It depends on the year(s) those picks were in the 20's. You usually see someone pull something out a hat in the late round pretty much every year. Very difficult. More luck in the top 10 for sure.

I remember hearing a rumor SGA did not want to go to CLE. Still would rather have Bridges or MPJ. I remember wanting the Cavs to draft MPJ even though he had injury concerns and more of a volume shooter. I think it worked out, he found the perfect fit in Denver and he has transformed his game into an elite shooter and very good defender.

Yeah I think one top 10 pick is better

Brutal due to the pg talent there

Plus Danny had a war chest or picks

He could’ve gone up and got luka

Bridges, MPJ. Like I said, I heard that rumor SGA did not want to be in CLE so maybe the Cavs wanted him. Who knows...definitely 3 guys that went 9-14 that are better than Sexton
I also think 3 guys from 2-7 who are worse. Maybe 2...carter close depending what a team needs.

I think if it's top 3-5 that's probably better than 3 in 20s. top 10? little closer call IMO. Like if you said right now I could have 3 picks at, say, 22, in a draft 3, 5 and 7 years from now or one at #8 in 3 years? I take the latter, I think

part of that is because in reality that far down the line ya never know if those picks will still be in the 20s....but I guess if for this exercise we guarantee they are still might take them as could move them.

Except you got it one year, not 3

So two top 20 picks in one years draft....it ALL depends on the draft. If it is a deep one then yeah you probably take the 3. Also means that a top 10 pick could be very valuable. Really all depends, I still take the top 10 pick most draft classes

Celtics should close things out tonight.

Too bad the Cavs are dinged up. Considering they had an injury filled season finally winning a playoff series is a step in the right direction and I think they've had a good season.

This is dated pretty far back but a nice sample size for the sake of the argument. NBA Drafts (1989-2008)

More likely to get a role player, deep bench player in late 20's if you are lucky. You can find a star or solid player with a top 10 pick and not crazy odds.

Curious what makes someone a bust as pretty sure Wagner and Diop for us were picked in this time frame and at 5 and 8, respectively. No busts there? Maybe they were deep bench but for how long.....and is deep bench and no better not a bust for a 5 pick?

Maybe....but that means they had no intention of keeping him, which is certainly possible.

Hope the next guy can continue the streak of improving every season like he has if we go that route.

He is a good coach no doubt but the lack of adjustments is frustrating at times. Kinda sucks Bud already got hired. I guess if there are no other options the Cavs just keep JB. I don't think he is the long-term answer though.

I understand....just a hypothetical/general situation of what I'd prefer. could make it 7 or 9 pick, too.

Yeah I just meant the Cavs could’ve gotten 3 firsts than than one top 10 pick

So they could have turned it into Jalen Brunson, Keldon Johnson and Jaden McDaniels and that is with extreme luck. I take the top 10 pick
