The fact that he got into the Hall for something other than his on field play perhaps:noidea:

I didn't take him because of HOF, but his numbers are all pretty good... I think people passed on him because he only played 13 seasons so he wasn't able to compile some HOF looking numbers... but his ratios are all HOF caliber...

He's a good player, but in CF I'd easily take Mays, Cobb, Mantle, Speaker, Puckett, etc....the guy I was surprised to see on the board after the Wildcards was Joe D

yes, but unfortunately it can not be Joe D... Maybe if he played LF, but unless i can trade Boggs or eddie matthews i wouldn't do it, because the rewards are just not high enough!!!

With that said does anyone want Boggs??

What does third base have to do with JoeDiMaggio as yer WC? I don't get it.

I have Cobb at CF, so i would need to either trade cobb(which will be hard since he is my lead off, and he is really my only speed), or use him at DH and even though he is better than boggs(one of my worst 3 picks), the rise is just not significant enough to draft him over Mariano Rivera...

Ty Cobb was usually a #3 hitter though. After Sam Crawford retired I think he hit second some, but more of a middle of the order guy.

Not saying I wouldn't use the WC on Rivera though. I reached for Eck so I wouldn't have to.

I know he didn't hit lead off... But he has lead off numbers... and in drafts like this he should be hitting leadoff... Kind of like how Trout is no longer a lead off hitter, but its because he is too good... But if Pujols was pujols and Hamilton was actually good, Trout would not be needed in the middle, so he would be back at top!!!

I disagree on that. Leadoff hitters should hit leadoff.

It's not a plug n play spot in the order, IMO.

Trout would really have to adjust his approach at the plate if he were to be a decent leadoff hitter again. His strikeout numbers would really hurt at the top. Not to mention his greatly diminishing stolen base threat.

agree to disagree... I don't see why Strike out numbers matter for lead off... In fact that is one spot i can care less if my player strikes out(assuming he has an OBP of .360+)...

when i look at leadoff i care about only 3 stats, OBP, SB, and SB%...

i consider those to be the most important 3 stats for a leadoff hitter, its not the only stats i look at...

Now it got interesting. I'm leaving for a dart tournament shortly and nos has my list. Skip me if he isn't online. The profits of tonight's tournament goes to the schools prom so kids get to attend free. No way these could afford it any other way.
