He didn't say much of anything other than we'll see how things go April 7. For those without a calendar handy, that's this coming Monday.

Milton doesn't give any indication of being a complainer, but standing on a sideline can be pretty difficult when you know you won't be playing unless the other guy gets hurt.

Here's a pretty tough question. If you were the Titans, Browns or Giants and were hell bent on taking Cam Ward or Sheduer Sanders or could get Milton for your first round pick instead, would you offer that up to The Patriots? If you were the p[atriots, would you give him up for the #1, #2 or #3 pick in this draft?
I would give Milton for a 2nd round pick. Of course I’d trade him for a 1st round pick

Absolutely without a doubt the dumbest question ever asked. Really????? A top 3 pick for Milton???? My God……. We would be lucky….. very lucky to get a 3rd or 4th round pick for him. Fuck…. Maybe the Giants Browns or Titans would give up this and next years 1st for Milton. He tore that Bills 3rd stringers who flat out didn’t try a new asshole. Who wouldn’t give up a top 3 pick for that? Wow……

Imagine what he could do if he only had a top notch RB...

Or a top-notch LT.....

I feel there is more depth at RB than LT so I would prefer we take a LT then look at RB. In fact I am not all the Dis enamored with Stevenson. I think the fumbling last year can be corrected. I would draft another TE or WR before I looked at RB

This is the most up to date look at the Patriots Depth Chart and Roster.

Even if they get a LT, I'm still a bit concerned about the OL.
Whoever they draft cannot be a question mark going into the preseason.
If they cannot get Miller from the Raiders, LT just can't be a miss. It has to be a solid player.

I don't care if it's Campbell, Simmons, or Conerly. Just don't draft a RT and try to convert him to the left side in four months.

IMO. Only IMO the draft should look as follows

LT
IOL
TE
RB
WR
Then how the chips fall. It won't look like that but it's what I would like to see

That's too rigid. Players slip, opportunities develope. There's not an exact order that can be followed without rrisking losing value every step of the way. I'd also agree you can't just chase value without regard to needs, but there's a balance.

I don't feel it's rigid at all. We know for sure we need a LT. And the G position is very much questionable. The Pats shored up the defense in FA so while there is value it can wait. They also added depth at WR so it can wait. TE room are currently on short term deals if memory serves so a selection there makes sense. I am not sure Stevenson is done in NE, yeah he had a rough year but last year we a mess from Kraft to the pot washer in the kitchen.

Shoring up in the trenches is never bad and there is depth at WR and RB so it makes a lot of sense to me

We keep hearing that a team should not draft for 'need' because it limits the overall outlook for the draft.

Yet when trying to teach a young person fiscal responsibility, we tell them, "Buy only what you need and stay away from buying what you want."

But what happens when what you want is what you need?

The Patriots' greatest "need" is a LT. Not just a LT, but a high quality LT who can keep all high speed, Edge players from getting to Drake Maye four or five times a week. With that known need, wouldn't it be in the best interest of the team to look at every freakin' LT available from every Div. 1 school and anaylze every aspect and measurement and then forget all of the outside BS and make sure that the best LT is on your board. Even if it's Mark Meup of Lafayette who's 6'5" 305 Was a three year starter. Gave up five sacks in 3 years and 12 QB pressures. May not have played against all of the big schools but played against at least half of them every year. The focus has become so narrow that we look at three guys and they all have faults. One has short arms. One has an attitude. One has never played LT. Everyone else is considered a leftover of the main course.

Sometimes, a leftover actually tastes better than it did that afternoon after a night in the refrigerator.

You certainly need to have a balance between perceived value and perceived need.

I think most agree that Jeanty is the #1 RB in this class? Sure there are one or two pundits out there saying Hampton is #1.

The same can't be said for tackles. Especially LT. Some say Cambbell is #1 while others say Blanks, Membou, Simmons...

So how does that affect percieved value vs need? I know my feelings on it.

Regardless of what any of us want it's all up to Vrabel and Wolfe. Not an easy decision coming up. For a perceived weak draft class, I haven't been this excited about a draft in a long time. LFG

We need 2 or maybe 3 LT's - draft or trade.....

We need tackles!!!!! We could use a guard, WR, and/or TE.
TE's take time to develop so we should look ahead.
We need a kicker - unless we don't mind losing several games by a couple points.
Rhamondre had a hand injury last year and should get another go but we need a RB for development.
We have a lot of questions at center
We need to be opportunists on defense - always looking!
