Mason Taylor would be another nice piece to add to the puzzle for sure. I would give you guys an A for the first two picks if that happens. There were many thinking he might sneak into the end of round 1.
I like him a lot and I like Arroyo due to his speed and agility, it would be hard for any LB to cover him

Round 1 was best pick at greatest position of need. Are we now at the point where the Pats can take best player available or do we stick to our guns and select position of need?

Here are few guys to think about. #38 is the sixth pick tonight.

22. Donovan Ezeiruaku, DE/OLB, Boston College

After notching 16 ½ sacks last season, Ezeiruaku already seems to have a master's degree in pass-rushing, as he has a full toolkit of moves he is prepared to wield at just the right moment. His 6-3, 248-pound build still will likely result in him being erased by bigger blockers, particularly in the run game, but he compensates for it by leveraging his length, agility and smarts.
Him or Mike Green out of Marshall

36. Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina

At 6-3 and 220 pounds with the speed of a cornerback, he seems perfectly suited to match up with tight ends and bigger receivers. Emmanwori is a bit wild when working downhill against the run and may lack the fluidity to handle work in the slot, but his excellent ball skills and physical tools should prove plenty alluring to many teams.
Hell yes. He plays with violence that Vrabel was looking for. I thought he would go round 1.

46. Mason Taylor, TE, LSU

The son of Hall of Famer Jason Taylor has made a name for himself on the other side of the ball, proving to be a fluid pass catcher comfortable operating both in space and in traffic. He's not as dynamic as this year's top tier tight ends and is more likely to be a complementary piece than a go-to target, but he can still be a highly effective weapon for the right offense.
Still one of the best players available.

48. Jayden Higgins, WR, Iowa State

The appeal of trotting out a 6-4, 214-pound wideout doesn't require explanation. Higgins poses a major problem in the red zone and contested-catch scenarios, though he might be relegated to a big slot role until he refines his game a little further.
Ehh...

50. Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota

At 6-6 and 331 pounds, Ersery is nimble enough to corral speedy edge threats yet strong enough to lock down anyone who tries to engage him. Things can get dicey when he has to recover or face a counter move, but his tools are worth developing.
Hell yes. While I have been high in Nick Emmanwori for a while, I would not be disappointed in a double dip at OT set the Oline up for the future with some positional versatility.

Of these picks I would select Taylor, but Higgins with Diggs could be scary good

Best player available and at position of need. We have very few positions that could not be improved by best player available.
One consideration would be a value pick. Lets not take a player we don't need?

Lotta talk has started about the Patriots possibly hoping that one WR in particular will slip to #38.

WR Jaylin Noel Iowa St. 6'1.5" 198. Speed and excellent hands.

IMO, don't be surprised if they stay with the OL and take

OG Jonah Savaiinaea AZ 6'4" 324# Perfect road grader to have beside Campbell.

I was just thinking the same thing before I read your post. I'm not sure there is a glaring need spot. One thar stands out from any other at this point. Get BPA.

And the friggin' Dolphins trade up and steal Savaiinaea.

Now I think that the Patriots are going to grab Mason Taylor TE LSU

The only knock on this kid is his size. He's not a big back that's going to run thru player but he does block well, can catch out of the back field and does have break away speed.

This is not a horrible pic I would have preferred retired in from Miami or a wide receiver but this kid is a football player and a damn good one right now I give to be minus

So are we going D or OL with the next pick?

I'm hoping OL but let's see who's still there.

Kind of surprise NE hasn't been involved in any trades. Makes me think they knew who they were targeting. I saw a report from Henderson saying the only contact he had with NE was a Zoom meeting with the RB coach. He was totally surprised NE drafted him.

Did I miss something? Did NE trade 77 for 85? What else did they get?

Ok so in a nut shell NE trades back twice 12 spots. Get an addition 5th this year and KCs 4th next year.

So with pick #95 NE selects Jared Wilson, C, Georgia. Glad to see NE building depth at OL but this kid was only a 1 year starter. PFF had him at #88 on their overall board. Sounds like a project player? Maybe he can sit and learn from Bradbury and Cole as the knock on him is experience and football IQ due to limited snaps. Not sure I love a development player with our last 3rd round pick. Especially if football IQ is an issue for a C.

Thoughts?

His football is is excellent. He is great at pass protection but needs work in run - mainly because he will have to increase strength. He is a development player but should not take a lot of work to overtake our centers. He is an excellent athlete - number 1 center in draft.

Not saying he's dumb just his lack of expirence. I did some more research on Cs since I didn't prior to the draft. Also looked at some other social media posts and most agree he could be really good. Even Mel Kiper just praised the NE draft thus far. Granted he still in SHOCK Sanders hasn't been selected. Not sure having a glowing review from Kiper gives me confidence, lol.

I feel better now, even if he's not a 1st year starter. Oline looking solid next year.

Can't wait to see what this team looks like after all the cut downs.

Still excited. LFG
