Hope for this offense will only cause pain..
As soon as the other team scores their 4th run, the Seattle Mariners odds of winning that game go to less than 5% I bet

So after 2 games it looks like the M's need to pitch every game damned near perfect and hope one of our hitters can run into a ball somewhere to have a chance at winning.
What am I missing?
SITUATION 1: Bottom of the 6th inning, Mariners down 1-0. Runners at first and second with one out. Jorge Polanco at the plate.
SITUATION 1: Bottom of the 6th inning, Mariners down 1-0. Runners at first and second with one out. Jorge Polanco at the plate.
THE PLAY: Polanco, who was 2-for-2 at the time, elected to bunt the ball to third base. It was listed as a sacrifice and the runners moved to second and third, but there were now two outs. Rowdy Tellez then struck out, ending the threat.
THE RESOLUTION: Plenty of Mariners fans and media were confused by the decision, including me, but after the game, Polanco said that he bunted on his own and was trying to take advantage of something he saw on the field.
M's lineup for tonight (Sat, 3/29)
- Victor Robles (R) RF
- Julio Rodríguez (R) CF
- Cal Raleigh (S) C
- Randy Arozarena (R) LF
- Luke Raley (L) DH
- Jorge Polanco (S) 3B
- Rowdy Tellez (L) 1B
- Ryan Bliss (R) 2B
- J.P. Crawford (L) SS
insanity defines this team... Doing the same thing and expecting the same results year in and year out... With the same players from last year, do they really think they are all of a sudden going to start hitting?
didn't polanco show bunt on the pitch right before the one that he bunted? i'm almost positive he did, but i could be wrong.Who knows what he did or didn’t see but the great baseball guy in the sky knows that in that situation especially with a left-handed hitter at the plate you let the guy swing away if he pulls the ball to the right side of the infield and they don’t roll a pair You still will have guys at second and third or first and third at the least if they go for the force play at second and don’t get the second out at first.
It just looked like the dumbest thing in the world to me when I saw the computer. Tell me that he sacrificed bunted and it’s just as stupid if you bunt it intentionally trying to get a hit. How often do you lay down a bunt intentionally and expect to get a hit ?? maybe one time out of seven.
Hell, the way the entire entire team is hitting especially the top of our lineup. You might tell them all to bunt until further notice. It’s like maybe one out of seven is a pretty good batting average for them. Everybody just bunt the ball hoping to get on. it beats striking out and everything else they’re doing to Make outs
No it was a very dumb move but my point was that it was his dumb move and not Wilson's. I know you give hitters freedom, but hitters have to be smarter than that. To me, there is no advantage to laying down a bunt for a hit just to load the bases for a lesser hitter which would have been the case in that game. And agreed, the chance of a bunt hit is about one in seven or worse with a guy with his speed.Who knows what he did or didn’t see but the great baseball guy in the sky knows that in that situation especially with a left-handed hitter at the plate you let the guy swing away if he pulls the ball to the right side of the infield and they don’t roll a pair You still will have guys at second and third or first and third at the least if they go for the force play at second and don’t get the second out at first.

seems like whatever he thought he "saw" would've been mitigated after that first attempt lol.He did because he thought he saw something. Dumb. Hit away.
