This is why the rule is stupid. If the Pats want Vrable they are forced to interview a token minority. I wonder how the token minority interviewee feels about this
It's only a problem for the league and everyone else when the league decides to enforce it. How many other teams have hired a HC since the rule was put in place and conducted token interviews to finally get the guy they wanted??? Probably 100% of them. Billionaires don't become billionaires by following someone else's rules.

Patriots.com 1/7/2025. First round of 2025 free agents that the Patriots re discussing. Too many cost effect candidates are missing for me to give this list a great deal of credibility.

Notable External Free Agents
Three important positions, edge, offensive tackle and wide receiver, top the Patriots spots of need this offseason, while a second starting cornerback and defensive front seven depth should also receive heavy consideration in free agency as they're two deepest positions of quality players in this year's group.
As always, there are some interesting notable names due to hit the free agency market. The Patriots will have to balance their moves between free agency and the draft, with options on the defensive side of the ball appearing to be the most plentiful when the league year opens in March. At tackle and wide receiver there is limited depth after the key names atop the lists like receiver Tee Higgins and offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley.
Here are some notable free agents that will garner plenty of attention around the NFL this spring, specifically focusing on the positions the Patriots could consider upgrading.
  • Tee Higgins, WR
  • Chris Godwin, WR
  • Amari Cooper, WR
  • Ronnie Stanley, OT
  • Cam Robinson, OT
  • Alaric Jackson, OT
  • Milton Williams, DT
  • B.J. Hill, DT
  • Josh Sweat, Edge
  • Dre Greenlaw, LB
  • DJ Reed, CB
  • Charvarius Ward, CB
  • Rasul Douglas, CB

Patricia is probably like most other rocket scientists, smartest guys in the room but nobody can understand anything they say.

Two weeks ago, a Philadelphia Eagle offensive lineman was on a podcast and said that AJ Brown and Hurts had always been friends. Until recently. When asked why, the OL couldn't give any reason. Last week, against the Packers, Brown was targeted once and caught it for 13 yards. Brown was seen sitting on the sidelines while the defense was on the field reading a book, "Internal Excellence." When asked, Brown said he was trying to be a better player and person.

Now there seems to be something else going on. Mike Vrabel the new HC of the NEP and AJ Brown are very good friends and the rumors are flying that Brown, who was a Patriot's fan through college would like to play for Vrabel in New England. Philadelphia fans and media have picked up the trowel and are demanding the #4 pick in the upcoming 2025 draft. The Eagles and Patriots haven't even begun to discuss anything.

ESPN picked up the conversation and their commentators believe that th best that the Eagles might do is one of the Patriots two third round picks.

There's no question that Brown would be a huge upgrade to the Patriots receiving corps and add a true #1 WR.

Thoughts?? Suggestions?? Complaints???

Exciting, yes. I am mostly ignoring rumors as we approach the reporters peak manufacturing portion of the year.

I like the rumor but dismiss it with all other rumors until he's actually on the team.
