I'm looking through last year's draft and Dimitrov actually said that the Falcons should 'do the GB thing and get a QB' while everyone else was on Dallas Turner
And I’m glad we went and got our QB last year, it was a QB heavy draft and I’ve always liked Penix, and given how things with Cousins didn’t work out it’s great that we have our QB of the future now instead of having to take one in this class which doesn’t look good for QBs. A lot of people have been too critical of our draft picks lately IMO, most of the high draft picks have been good, it’s obviously too soon to tell with Penix but I think he’ll be really good - the only big miss was Pitts, taking him in the top 5 was a gigantic mistake, he hasn’t produced anywhere near the level of a top 5 pick, and we could’ve had Chase or Parsons or Surtain with that pick. But the rest of our recent first round picks have been strong.

I wouldn't say people are that critical of the Falcons picks. It's just hard to rebuild an offense, defense and find a QB.

I do think if you guys are healthy and don't make the playoffs this year then there has to be serious questions as you're wasting Bijan at that point

Agreed, I think if we don’t have a winning season this year Raheem may be gone and a lot of the front office as well, we are tired of losing, we’ve had 7 straight losing seasons. Last year we should’ve had a winning season, and if Raheem had benched Cousins in November when Cousins wasn’t fully healthy we might have, even with what went down we still came very close, lost our last 2 games in OT and had we won just 1 we would’ve at least finished with a winning record. But it was still a disappointing season. There’s no excuse for us to not be good this season, we should be a playoff team if we stay healthy.

Whoever drafts Milroe in the top 6 rounds gets an auto F from me.

I swear if I hear "With the 18th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the Seattle Seahawks select, QB.." And Milroe is included, I'm going to shit myself and probably get banned from this forum for the biggest rant in SportsHoopla history.

Stewart for Seattle would be interesting. HUGE boom/bust prospect. Maybe DLaw, Reed, and Williams can whip him into shape. I'd rather just have Grant, honestly. Murphy can move to 3 tech and rotate with Reed and Seattle will be nearly impossible to run the ball against meaning Mac can do his 3rd and long scheming and just wreck QBs.

I would be thrilled if Philly got Emmanwori at 32. That would be awesome. But I don't see that guy falling to the end of the round. I know safeties are not prioritized, but that's a 6'4" safety who runs under 4.4 and can hit and cover and make plays on the ball.

Thats the same background of a player they passed on (Kyle Hamilton) to draft Jordan Davis. I think they’re more likely to trade up or down than they are to pick at 32.

I see Buffalo, KC and Philly picking at the bottom and I think one team trades up which will likely cause at least one team to trade back. Especially if someone wants to trade up for a QB.

The Bills have 10 picks in the draft, including two in the 2nd round.
Obviously they aren't going to keep all their picks.
I'd be surprised if they get to the end of the 2nd round without making a trade.

Yeah, I think the Bills trade up in rd1, Chiefs stay put, and Eagles trade back.

Although this analystics site has the bottom 4 teams all likely to trade: 2025 NFL Draft IQ | Powered by Amazon QuickSight

Chiefs generally trade up but Im not sure they'll be motivated to do so if they only have 13 first round grades. Bills have more ammo...maybe they try and get into that range if someone falls.

Well, that's true. And I saw one of the Eagles reporters saying yesterday that if it came down to, say, Emmanwori and Harmon, the DT, they would probably take the DT given their history of focusing on the lines.

But...taking Jordan Davis over Kyle Hamilton was probably a mistake, and hopefully Howie learns from such mistakes. Davis has been OK, and does a lot of the dirty work inside on defense as an early-down DT, but Hamilton is a star.

I just happen to think that Emmanwori is a really perfect prospect for the Fangio defense, and they have an opening now with the trade of CJGJ.

And yes, there are strong rumors that the Eagles want to trade back and are trying to talk to the teams looking to trade into the first round for certain players like QBs.

I’m with you on Kyle Hamilton. I just don’t think the Eagles look at that position that high.

Fuckin stupid ass Eagles and their bullshit building trenches while Seattle keeps taking skill positions and BULLSHIT and.... *mumbles and quietly leaves forum*

It would be kinda weird if Booker made it past Seattle, Minnesota, Baltimore, and Kansas City but it could happen.

I think its more likely teams stay away from James Pearce or Mike Green because of potential character problems and the Eagles draft one of them and they become pro bowl players.

(I think KC would do the same if they hadnt been burned by too many character issues lately)

Oh you watch.. those Eagles FUCKS will get him somehow.. just like when Seattle went up their own ass and took Witherspoon over Carter.

On a more serious note, I 100% see Baltimore taking Booker and then as a Seattle fan being annoyed as F all that we passed on him for something else or Zabel who I'm not high on. It's still an OL but his big plus is he's versatile and can play any position? WTF? When was the last time in NFL history you saw any benefit to an OL playing any position? Thuney? Thuney was an average left tackle at best and the Chiefs would've been better off just leaving him in at guard.

I feel like the Eagles move will be that the Giants move on from Thibidoux because they have Abdul Carter so the Eagles get him in a trade and he becomes DPOY

I was listening to Todd McShay the other day and he said something about how if you don't have a QB then every other move you make doesn't really matter. You will still end up in the same place you've been. I don't think you should ever reach for a guy but if there is a QB you love then don't pass on the opportunity especially when you have an aging QB like Cousins coming off injury. It sucks they wasted all that money, but if it helped them get to the QB that can help them win then it is worth it. I'm viewing the Wilson situation like that for the Broncos of it sucks to have had to learn that lesson the hard way, but in the end the Broncos got their guy and hsould have a bright future moving forward because they did.

I can’t believe the Giants would even pick up the phone when Roseman calls after that front office looked foolish last year.

Agreed with this. And yeah it looks like your Broncos finally have a good QB after almost a decade of struggling and rotating through QBs, Nix had a strong rookie year and I think he’ll be a good franchise QB. Really I think all of last year’s first round QBs are going to be really good.
Having a strong QB is necessary to winning in the NFL.
