I mentioned this on the Bears board. We're still a DE/Edge away from filling all critical needs. Now due to us being down to just 4 picks, the 9th spot could be a candidate for a trade back. However, I don't agree with you at all that we still have a lot of holes. You'll have to show me where those are aside from the DE/Edge spot I just discussed.
36 is in his prime? And coming off an achilles? Don't get me wrong here as Kirk is a big upgrade and might win them the division but this isn't a Matt Stafford situation.Cousins is in his prime.
They have done a pretty good job in FA.FYI...the Bears now have a total of 4 draft picks. That would be good if they had a complete team without a lot of holes, but they're not.
Something tells me they're going to be trading one of the 2 1st round picks for more picks/players.
So many spewing this narrative. couldn't just be that Joe wanted to go where he had a better chance to start. Or the younger Winston might be better.
I mean, they seemed to get along really well and what does Watson have to worry about...his deal is guaranteed? Fans yell for the backup in every NFL city if the starter struggles just a little. Luckily our FO does not care about irrational, emotional fans.
Ouch!...but I understand the market dynamics. $2.7M player with a guaranteed $5.45M contract and no upside.

Stafford started earlier and couldn't even throw two years ago.Yeah, if Cousins is in his prime, why is everyone assuming the Rams need to draft a QB? Stafford is also 36.

Kirk was 24 his rookie year. Stafford was 21. Kirk didn't play full time until he was 27. Stafford was 23. They aren't on the same cycle.
Stafford is also 6 months older.
He is in his prime. He was having an MVP type year this most recent season. Maybe you missed it.Oooh, 6 months! Yeah, Stafford had an injury, but he has healed. Much less impact than an Achilles.
The answer is simple; Cousins is not in his prime.

Good trade for both teams. That could be a great pick considering their QB situation.
Texans gonna trade the new pick for Higgins?
The Chargers...wow did they need cap space badly, but they are in a tighter spot now at WR, practically locking themselves in to take a WR in the first rd this year (they'll have a choice of some good ones).
