Counting playoffs, Jalen Hurts is 32-12 since 2022 with 2 NFC Championships with one Super Bowl championship and a Super Bowl MVP. If that’s not great QB play, then I have to question a person’s understanding and knowledge of the great game of football.

this shit didn't fly for Aikman, and he won three of um. MVP too.

Eye of the beholder stuff.

I agree with you, Hurts is a great QB, I’m not sure why people still act like he isn’t, he’s made the playoffs all 4 seasons as a starter with 2 Super Bowl appearances and 1 Super Bowl win. Yeah he’s had good talent around him but he’s a very good player. All of the people acting like it was all Saquon last year for the Eagles forget that Hurts had a strong year as well and that in 2022 Hurts nearly won the Super Bowl with Miles Sanders as his RB.

He’s unconventional and he doesn’t fit expectations others have for the position. When people look at the elite run game they’re quick to praise the OL and the RB. Few want to give credit to the impact Hurts has in the run game. Defensive fronts don’t cooperate and line up exactly where you want them on the white board. Hurts decision making presnap is a key element of the Eagles run game. Additionally, his presence means you don’t have to block an edge defender because that defender has to respect the possibility of Hurts keep off of run action. His feet also become a pick your poison situation in the pass game. If you take away his receivers down field he has the ability to tuck and get 7-8 yards to move sticks. He is the key to what makes the Eagles offense go. He’s also an exceptional leader who has won at every level. Some guys are just winners and Hurts is a winner albeit in an unconventional way. It’s no fluke that he’s outplayed Mahomes in three straight head to head contests.

IF thats all you got from the post...sure, why not.

you wanted to bring attention to your teams QB.
THERE IT IS...HOF is just around the corner.
I don’t know what your post means haha. You seemed to laugh at me asking a poster if Hurts is a great QB making me think you find that supposition silly. Then you’re invoking Aikman who is in the Hall of Fame. I’m lost and I have no idea what your point is. Help me out.

Is Hurts a great QB?

I mean I know every Eagles fan will pounce on this, but Hurts kind of reminds me of a modern day Troy Aikman. A guy that does enough right to help the team win games and supported by a great coaching staff and supporting cast.

That's not a bad thing. I don't know why so many Eagles or Cowboys fans get so butthurt over Hurts/Aikman being regarded as some ALL TIME GREAT OMFG QB.

The Hurts/Aikman comp is fair, I think both guys are underrated. Winning is the name of the game. Brady can't be the GOAT because of 7 SB wins and Montana couldn't have formally been the GOAT because he was 4-0 in the Super Bowl if winning weren't the main measuring stick. I can make the argument that Mahomes is "better" than Brady and Marino was "better" than Montana, but Hardware tells the tale. I think Aiknan is extremely underrated, because he was willing to sacrifice big numbers to run it down people's throats and win games. There were many great offensive coaches like Bill Walsh and Andy Reid who thought Aikman would have been incredibly prolific in the West Coast scheme

That’s a great thing! I don’t really care where people want to rank him all time. I don’t think people appreciate him in his current era for what he is as a QB. That stuff comes first before any all time stuff.

Yeah I don’t understand why people come for Aikman. The only thing I can think of is that he played at the beginning of the popularity of fantasy football and his personal stats didn’t lend well to fantasy so he was getting drafted behind guys like Vinny Testeverde and Warren Moon who put up bigger numbers but couldn’t hold a candle to him as a QB.

A rational response.

Do people rank Trent Dilfer better than Dan Marino because he won a Super Bowl? No...

I guess what I'm saying is I applaud Hurts/Aikman for doing what they do to win games (and I'll say Hurts does quite a bit because of his rushing TD ability - that can't be ignored). And at the end of the day that's prob. what matters most. But if we're just going by raw talent of a QB and ability to put it SOLELY on their shoulders... that's where I don't put them up as high.

Would I want Jalen Hurts on Seattle for $50M+ a year? Well, not really. Our defense isn't as good as Philly and our OL is nowhere near as good... I don't think it'd work. Would I take Mahomes or Jackson on Seattle for that? Yes.

I dunno. It's such a hard point to argue... because fans naturally get upset like you don't appreciate their QB for what they do well. It was the same with Wilson. "Wilson just won because of the legion of boom and Lynch!" Same crap, but I got it... Wilson was the best QB Seattle ever had, but I can see why a number of folks with lesser teams would rather have an Andrew Luck kind of guy (at the time).

I think prime Russ is a good comp for Hurts.

That's a far better comparison and I can agree with that. I was only saying Aikman comparison for MODERN NFL (and ability to win). You can't really compare a QB in the 90s to a QB now... it's just SUCH a different game. But yah fightin, I think we're on the same page.
