I really don’t spend a lot of time thinking or evaluating the Browns because after Marty Schottenheimer moved on the Browns have been irrelevant in my lifetime. You can play mental gymnastics to defend them if you like but the reality is the Browns have won one playoff game since the Clinton administration left the White House.

I don’t draw a distinction between sexual assault or r*pe. I see those things as being synonymous. Sports creates strange bed fellows. I feel bad that you find yourself having to defend a shitty person like Watson and the payoff has been a single playoff loss that Watson wasn’t even healthy enough to start.
That first comment is pure comedy based on last few days alone. You really are not very self aware are you?

what mental gymnastics? I even said the Browns have mostly been a disaster not just since Clinton but the last 50 years or so. Make it not self aware and poor comprehension. Let's see if you can add something to those "skills"

and you did. Guy was not even indicted.

Yes but it sucks to say the Watson moved basically killed all the good that was done by the FO. So I thought Berry did some good things, great things and poor things. Add one monumental screw up at the most important position and things go crazy. He still has a couple years but if he doesn’t pick the right QB again…it’s over. So I get not trying the rebuild this year but only a matter of time if they can’t nail a draft or two
No disagreement there....but I wont kill him (and not saying you did) for making a move a dozen or so teams badly wanted to make.

Really don't want to see him and Depo go as I believe the latter if nothing else is exceptional with the cap....but possible they could.

If you don’t have your QB, you’re rebuilding in the NFL in my opinion
I mean, you aren't competing but rebuilding? I think that depends. IF you have a team that with a solid (or better) QB can compete I wouldn't call it a rebuild. Saying this as a general statement and not about where my team is.

Is this the group that quit on Mayfield?
That didn’t want to extend him, yes.

I don’t fault them for going after Watson, even with the allegations, I fault them for being so fucking desperate. Call them cap experts all you want but when giving out a guaranteed contract you better be damn sure he is a great player and will be.

My biggest downfall of the FO seems to be their inability to evaluate certain position groups and QB is one of them. I am terrified they pick Sanders and that he will be a BIG bust

Yeah I don’t put a lot of research into my posts about the Browns. I didn’t even know who that Berry guy was. It’s rather easy to rile you up so that’s kind of fun for me. It’s also fun to remind you that God hates the Cleveland sports fan.

A lot of different ways it can go but if you have a bridge qb, you are in a rebuild (quick or slow). If you draft a QB, it can go different ways but looking at the QB’s in this class…it doesn’t seem like a 1-2 year fix.

I think history says that any QB they pick will be a big bust and if he’s not the Browns will get the evaluation wrong and quit on him anyway.

didn't Berry spend a lot of time around Roseman? I mean, I get Browns have been major disappointments most of last 50 seasons + but THIS regime has only been here 5 and inherited a mess.

And proceeded to make the worst trade in NFL history while handing out the worst contract in history

What good things has the Browns front office done? Besides hire a decent coach. A two time coach of the year who has a losing career record. 2023 season is the first time the Browns scored more points than allowed since 2007.

I mean, a dozen teams wanted him badly (Watson elimnated half of them himself) then half a dozen teams were willing to offer roughly same in compensation as the Browns just to meet with him. No one would offer more than a 4th for Baker. Seems the teams needing QBs and trying to win agreed the guy could still play (and not as sure about Baker).

Why so sure they cannot evaluate QB (other than incredibly tough for all FOs)? Have never had the need to pick one high as had Baker and then Watson. Highest pick on one was a 5th rounder. Backup like Brissett played well for them. A season like we had using 3 QBs more the norm than winning 11 with 4.

As to Sanders I think terrified a little overblown but, again, since it's so tough for any team to evaluate QBs I'd be worried we get it right with whoever we took at QB at 2 if we take one.

clearly you don't put much research (or even though) to your comments.

Rile me up? You are free comedy. You made more asinine comments and were easily called out for them...and moved the goal posts.

They did....but not gonna kill them for it since pretty much every team needing a QB and wanting to win tried hard to get Watson. Hell, I'm glad we have an owner who was willing to let them make such a deal. Didn't work out but beats having no will to win like the baseball owner.

I mean, the team had 1 playoff appearance since the return in 20 seasons before they took over (no wins) and despite inheriting a disaster proceeded to make playoffs 2X first 4 seasons (once with 4 QBs) in the toughest division in the sport.

Going back to 2007 in this discussion is irrelevant as THIS regime was not making decisions for those teams.....might as well credit them for the Paul Brown years if using entire history.

Have they been great? Nope. don't even disagree with shane this could be make or break offseason then season for them.

Amazing how so many of the "myles wants out, this organization is a disgrace" are now "he doesn't deserve that much money, this organization is a disgrace"

They were in a lose/lose/lose situation no matter what.

Trade him for less value in return and kill their cap with that dead money.

Let him walk at FA and get nothing.

Or pay him a huge contract.

Out of the three the last one was the most logical, the hope now they strike gold with a QB in the draft where they can win while they are still on their rookie contract. Otherwise this contract is going to continue to get restructured.

Death, taxes and the Browns are a disgrace are just eternal. These things will always be universal realities.

I mean, if we are talking since 1999 or even 1972 not really debatable. Had a discussion on a show last night asking callers what team in sports needs to be eliminated completely and caller and host said Browns. Hard to really make a case against him.

I guess only case is it happened once and our fans stepped up and did something no other fan base ever did.....got us a new team promised before the old one left. Many sundays wish we hadn't.

It was smart for the Browns to extend him because they were never going to get equal value for him. It was dumb that it got to this point. No reason at all for Haslam to turn down that dinner invite with Garrett. Not only should that dinner happen but it should of hsppened when the offseason started.

You are talking about the guy that ultimately gave approval to give Watson a fully guaranteed contract.
I never liked the guy but
I will say, the guy is not cheap and he will spend which is a huge plus.
