Any more cuts/releases on the DLine and maybe they go DT with 5th AND 20th picks almost because they have to. Need a stud True 3-4 Middle linebacker also though.

Well the only real option at 5 for DT is Carter.

I do think that 2 DL in the 1st round but I suspect that they will only take one DT in round 1. They will look for a lane stuffer later in the draft.

So Geno's 2023 cap hit is only $3M more than in '22 but against a cap that increased about $25M, so that's a huge win. Even more room now created by the release of Harris & Jackson helps open opportunity to add some FAs to improve weaker areas of the team before the draft. Great off-season so far, best still to come I think.

There could also be a defensive tackle already on a team that is not a free agent that we might be using a draft pick to trade for.

Man, I hope not. It's surely possible, but those picks for players trades haven't really been good ones for this FO.

Maybe. We may also go for one in FA.

Ja'ron Payne got 4 years 90 million. Don't know the details yet but no way were we ever going to spend that kinda money.

I'm guessing that Hargrove will be out of our price range as well.

Probably not but still likely to get a lot given his is the top DT in FA

Washington can keep Payne for that price. Payne had a good amount of sacks but was not that great of a run defender which is what lost Seattle more than one game. Almost $25M for that? I get he was one of the better DTs in free agency, but the Commanders can have him at that price. Seems like Albert Haynesworth 2.0... $60M guaranteed? Yeesh... DTs also have a track record of getting a huge contract and getting fat/happy... I don't know Payne's mentality but it seems the Commanders are paying him for projected upside which is not really the right thing to do. Donald was paid massively when he was already the best DT in the league. Payne is not.

4 years 84 million with 40 million in guarantees. So I guess less than Payne but not by much.

Looks like the annual "Seahawks fans vainly waiting for the Seahawks to make a splash in FA" era is upon us.

Yup it's deja vue time. Hate seeing the Seahawks division rival swoop in and sign a player the Seahawks could have used. Does sound sort of pricey but the Seahawks have more cap space than the 49ers, dang it.

Wow... Adding him to that DL is criminal...

It's not a great signing though... that's a lot of money for a 30 year old DT... but yah, if they can rotate him on passing downs OOF. A lot of guards were signed today, I was hoping Seattle would snag one - I think Cross will learn to deal with Bosa okay but our interior OL is still trash.

Looks like Cross, Lewis, Haynes, Lucas will be the starters next year, which is fine.. but center is still a GLARING hole. It was the reason we couldn't run up the middle last year at all and also resulted in a lot of pressure up the middle (Geno had to drop further back then necessary).
