I think he is wrong, I could not understand how a big contract would only be an 18 million dollar hit after 1 year post June 1. This site says it would be more like 100 million. But I agree with you again, makes no sense to trade him because who would be their QB?

To cut him, yes. To trade him, isn't it just the signing bonuses that come due?

I looked it up and cut, traded or retired works the same on the team cap. Which is why I am wondering about Kelce in Philly.
You don't have to wonder. There is a sneaky trick and Roseman knows it. Just his style.

Anyone looking to sign Cousins, there are reports out there that he is looking for a 2yr, 90M (45M/yr), fully guaranteed deal.

From strictly a $$ standpoint, it's actually a bit on the reasonable side, at least relative to the salaries starting QBs are getting these days. And based on his age, two years is not bad at all. The question remaining is how his Achilles has been responding to the surgery. He'll need to show he's 100% back.

Coming off that injury I think teams will balk at a fully guaranteed deal. No chance he starts week 1.

He was on track for a career year so the dollar amount is OK. The Achilles injury at age 35 is scary though, but won't be surprised to see a team bite on that offer.

If you're selling you always open with a high price. He can always lower it later on if the market is cool. Cousins is the top option available without using Draft picks. He should be the 1st QB off the market. For me the interest is what happens next to the other QBs.

The list of teams currently with $45M in cap space is relatively short:

Commanders (likely drafting a QB at #2)
Titans (Levis more or less the guy)
Texans (set)
Patriots (could be interested if they draft Harrison at #3)
Colts (set)
Bengals (set)
Lions (set)

Yes, but as we know cap space can be created if desired.

I'm sure a couple teams could be bidding on him.

One team that makes a lot of sense is the Falcons

I predict the Lions sign Tee Higgins, Jaylon Johnson, L'Jarius Sneed, Bryce Huff, and Danielle Hunter for $12
< @Mebert right now looking under the couch cushions for the spare change to make it happen >.

You’ve gotta be the happiest Lions fan in the world right now. You don’t have to pivot to the Pistons and the TWolves are the one seed haha.

Lockett is due $17.95M. He's a good player but he's past his peak. Most Seahawks fans want him back, but at a lower price.

Adams' release is inevitable if he isn't willing to take a massive pay cut. He might not like the timing of his release.
