If we tag Payne, which appears we will, I believe we should go OLine 1st and 2nd round if possible and the value is there. I don't see a Vinny like shopping spree from Rivera due to the sale and due to his free agency incompetence. We will have to dip into free agency as we have LB, CB, several OLine needs, and TE.

Not getting into the Payne issue or trying to argue, but tagging Payne will take about a 1/3 of the available (POSSIBLE) cap room that is there. Grabbing a CB in round 1 does also make some sense to me. The problem is that we continue to kick the offense down the road IMO if we go that route. In other words, Rd 2 will more than likely be OLine but as we all know, the board dictates the draft and an OLineman of value simply might not be there. If that happens, we are in a bad spot I believe. I would go LB or TE if that is the case and I am guessing LB would be there.

This is my problem with Rivera. He wants to make sure the defense is almost 100% taken care of before he addresses the offense. When he does make an attempt to address the offense, he swings and misses badly. Wentz, Norwell, T. Turner, etc.

As we all know, the defense isn't even close to being our problem..not even close. Tagging Payne and taking a CB in the 1st will NOT be the end of the world of course and there is some logic based on that. Who knows if we even go that route. I believe tagging Payne is a given and it appears the best value in Rd 1 is CB from what we know at this point.

If I am EB and I see this coming down the road, I would have a frank discussion with Rivera and basically tell him that the maximum amount of resources are needed to address the offense and that if he wants the offense to make improvement, more cap and high round draft picks are needed. Of course we cannot allocate 100% of the cap and 100% of our draft picks to the offense, but the offense must get the lions share of help this offseason period.

Amending what James Carville said, "It's the offense stupid".

We will see of course. It is very early and EB doesn't even have his coaching staff in place. Also, the combine has yet to take place and we haven't see the risers, sleepers, and fallers at this point.

Wright is not a 1st rounder I would be even hesitant to take him in the 2nd round as for Paris Johnson he is a 1st rounder and is a top 20 pick

He has plenty of talent but there is a reason teams are all over the place with him where he will be drafted he needs a ton of work

I know nothing about Richardson. I would hope the football people in Washington will.

I got a chance to talk to my buddy who played at Shepherd and asked him about Bagent. He said he can play ... he also mentioned very rare for a D2 player to play in the Senior Bowl. I think he is a UDFA pick with worth watching. Might not make it past camp ..... but pretty cool.
