Levis is pretty good actually. I am an SEC guy and have seen him quite a bit. I want to see him this year against the better teams (GA and TN), but he has all the tools.

I have no clue where we will be drafting, if Rivera will be here, if Wentz will be here, and if Howell is the future. I am not saying Levis is the pick, but I would be ok with the pick if the situation was right.
I need to see more.

One of James Franklin's great moves, choosing Clifford over Levis. Still not sure he has the tools to be a top notch NFL QB. He looks really good on some plays and then not so good a few plays later. I would rather he was still at Penn State over Clifford. Next year Penn State will start a kid named Allar ... kind of Big Ben like.

Levis almost reminds me of a bigger Baker Mayfield in the way he moves. Levis isn't reckless with the ball like Mayfield was, but Levis moves well in the pocket I feel.

Stoops has done a tremendous job at Kentucky. They have a solid defense and starting to get more talent on offense. I don't know if Levis will be a good NFL QB, but he has the arm and size.

I'll eat crow all day, but I hope Howell is not their plan.
You might be right.

I will tell you that I do not trust Rivera to make a long-term QB decision. That much I can tell you.

His long-term solution was Wentz. I prefer a new regime make the QB decision.

Hmmmm ... I never thought RR figured that Wentz was his long term plan but you might be right.

I have thought of him as this years Fitzpatrick with the option for two more years. As much as people complain about his salary he is not in the top 10. Under $30 million is cheap these days. I am so anxious to see what Baltimore does with Lamar. He is not your classic style QB but he sure makes the team better. He is what I hoped Griffin would be .... although I never wanted Griffin.

I figured he was here for a year and re-evaluate. Again, I might be wrong. If they keep him he is cheap as QBs go for the next two years. I think most of us were hoping we wouldn't be in the QB derby in 2023. If he is a one year rental then dad is spot on about what they gave up to get him. Who knows, I don't trust Ron and the Marty's here.

I just looked at a few 2023 mocks. I don't believe most but just to see what others are thinking. Most have Washington picking a lineman either offensive or defensive. Walter has them taking Levis 5th behind Young and Stroud.

To quote breed and I agree ... when has Ohio State given the NFL a good QB? Within the last two days I heard Jon Allen say he is disappointed in Young. As they say at the craps table "c'mon 7!!!"

This could be coach speak but Rivera was hinting that Wentz could be the long term answer. There again, what was he supposed to say after the trade? I don't trust Ron or Marty here either.

Agreed on OSU QBs. We will be on the 10th or so QB who is blowing up draft boards. Everyone wants the curse to be broken it feels.

If you can’t get young or stroud then Levis could be in the plan .

I have to see more but the baker mayfield comp is one I would walk away from in round one

Here is something I found. It was just my personal opinion that he is like Mayfield. I could be way off. Josh Allen is mentioned in this write-up regarding his running ability.

Perhaps we are looking at this the wrong way. Suppose we get to 6-8 wins and Rivera is retained, do we think he will trade for a vet or sign one instead of draft one early? I am guessing Rivera would know he is on thin ice with 3 straight losing seasons, as such, it might not be worth the risk for him to draft his future QB in the 1st round if he is on the chopping block? Rivera would not want to wait on the 1st rounder to develop as he himself would probably be gone as the 1st round QB will no doubt struggle year 1....as most do. Rivera knows he cannot have 4 straight losing seasons.

I would bet that Rivera will want results fast and will opt for trading/signing a transition QB to start and use that 1st rounder on a position that we need an instant upgrade....like OLine or Secondary.

If we get 6-8 wins, I would assume Wentz is released. Rivera could then use that 2nd round pick and 28 million to help build the roster. Who knows?

I'm not sure Rivera has a choice. With the cap situation and the holes all over the roster, he's gonna have to get a QB on a rookie contract and spend the cap money on the o-line, secondary and maybe a vet MLB.

That doesn't even take into account the fact that they will probably have to franchise Payne.

we can resign payne but you are right about the FT .

i like the fact we could have howell and maybe a top 10 draft prospect competing for the job . to me howell has some great tools and is at least a viable BU qb

See that's the thing. I don't think Payne wants to be here. Could be wrong, but top 5 DT money is gonna hurt. Hopefully we can sign him. That would be great and would speak to Ron that he was able to get Allen, McLaurin, and Payne to re-up.

If they get stupid and decide they want to win 7 or 8 games we are looking at a project like the kid from Florida. (Richardson)

Maybe I'm making too much of the fight.

Heard round two at halftime was bad and bloody.

Payne's dad going scorched Earth on social media last year.

Skins not making him a priority last summer.

Drafting Mathis in the 2nd round.

I just think it's gonna take a tag to keep him here.
