He was a safe pick, they will probably make the tourney on a regular basis but the Sweet Sixteen appears to be their ceiling, not much different than the previous coach who the fans turned on and basically ran out of town. Maryland should be better with this recruiting area and somewhat of a history. But our fans are completely irrational and believe Maryland's rightful place should be with the blue bloods and they haven't been that program ever.

Most MD fans were hoping for a young guy from a mid-major who could have a higher ceiling. But there was more risk. If they miss they become Georgetown and completely irrelevant.
