Keaton Verhoeff on Victoria looks like a top 10 pick for the 2026 draft and Cole Reschny was dominant with a hat trick. May be a first round pick as well this year.

The Chiefs set 2 franchise records in last night's 9-2 win over Victoria. Fastest goal to start a game (11 seconds) and fastest 3 goals scored (29 seconds).

Forgot to add that I was think it was a terrible decision to award the Memorial Cup to Kelowna, yeah it sucks for them that COVID cancelled the tourney back in 2020 when they were scheduled to host, but the Rockets are pretty terrible this season and I don't think they will be much better next season. Shouldn't having a really good team be the main priority when it comes to hosting the event?

For sure, it definitely should have gone to Lethbridge Medicine Hat.

But in all seriousness, imagine if Kelowna got the 2029 Memorial Cup as a make up instead of 2026. They got a haul at the deadline this year. They could have really built up with prospects the next 2 years and been very good from 2027-2029. Instead they're gonna have to dump all that draft capital plus extra just to be competent next year and then they are going to be very bad for the next several seasons after as they rebuild from nothing.

Also, people who know people close to Willie Desjardins believe the 2025-26 season will be his last season behind the bench. It would have been a great way to see him off with a guaranteed appearance at the Memorial Cup in a town where he's revered.

I wasn't aware of that, but I totally agree that would have been super cool. The WHL completely bungled this.

Scary incident in the Dub last night...


Kennewick, Wash. – Tri-City Americans defenceman Terrell Goldsmith remains in hospital under observation but is in good spirits Wednesday morning.

Following an on-ice altercation Tuesday evening, Goldsmith required medical attention 1:05 into the second period of WHL Regular Season Game #690 between the Seattle Thunderbirds and Tri-City Americans. He was taken to hospital via ambulance, was alert, responsive, and received immediate medical attention.

Further updates on Goldsmith’s condition will be provided as they are available.

WHL Regular Season Game #690 was suspended as a result of the circumstance. The game will be rescheduled at a later date.
