A lot of rumors in Atlanta about wanting Reynolds prior to tonight.
With Acuna out now, Cherrington basically has a blank check and has an opportunity to fleece them.

They apparently got a decent return for Frazier.

I know a lot of Pirates fans are pissed about the trade, but Frazier, though a decent hitter, was playing over his head and was never going to be part of their future.

How does a guy go from the #22 pick in draft 5 years ago and end up playing for team on Japan. Was he that bad, did Pirates mess this dude up or something else??

Has nothing to do with whether or not Frazier was playing over his head or what they got in return.

this ONLY has to do with the Pirates are never going to put themselves in a position where they have to pay a guy…ever!

Nutting. Will. Not. Allow. It.

Yeah not sure how they gave up on someone with less than 70 AB's in his career.
With that said his minor league numbers weren't that good and probably couldn't find a taker for him hence letting him go. Hopefully he can find a niche and make it back to the MLB someday.

Trust me I am not pissed about that trade. They finally sold high on a player and got max return, I am actually happy with the deal.

That is very true, they typical wash/rinse/repeat. With that said I am glad about the return since they timed the deal properly.

I get that. I do.

but you and i both know that anyone they got in return that shows any signs of being legit will be the next wash/rinse/repeat as soon as contracts become an issue.

And stupid me keeps watching anyway :L

Sad but true. In short time Bryan Reynolds will be gone. They say he is "untouchable" but as soon as they need to pay he will be a Yankee, Red Sox or Dodger.

Like the Archer trade before it was to bait us into believing they will try and it was truly a dump of players before they had to pay them.
Granted Meadows is probably a platoon player, Glasnow is an ace when healthy and if you don't want to cry DON'T look at Shane Baz's numbers in AAA.

Have no clue what happened but it seems the Tyler Anderson deal hit a snag. Now dumping him I really don't care because he never was good.

Well it looks like there was an issue with a player coming back.
Anyway he went to the Mariners for essentially the same deal. Essentially getting warm bodies back.

I guess the positive is with the draft and getting the Catcher back they went from having ZERO catching prospects to now 1 1/2.

Seriously, the Steelers and Penguins have real owners that are willing to make their team better even as players move on and retire.
One of the nicest facilities you can ever go to with one of the worst owners & products produced year after year..... It's hard to follow the Bucs... Real hard

I try not to invest too much into them

Nothing more than a clickbait, I’m so edgy nothing article. Of course the Pirates are not the most likely next championship winner for the Burgh. But articles telling you water is wet don’t get published.

every franchise in every sport in every city has down periods. And of course the Pens and Steelers are no exceptions. The difference between them and the Pirates is they will come out of any down period…the Pirates live there…just like Nutting demands.

Hey the Pirates picked up Michael Chavis from the Red Sox. Maybe Starkey was right. :D
