I really miss the 60's, 70's 80's and early 90's when they were a team that would contend. You just have to wonder how long they can hold onto or stay in the Pittsburgh market with the type of product they put on the field.

I do not expect much at all from the 2021 Pirates.

However I do like what BC is doing thus far. For the Bucs to compete going forward they need a mix of elite to above average talent coming in at around the same time. He is at least trying and on the surface seems to be getting decent returns on his trades to make that happen.

What I am anxious to know is 3 things:

Can he draft well?

Can he actually market the Bucs as an attractive team when the time is right to FA?

Can he convince Bob to pay for the necessary FA when the time is right?

If he can do those 3 things then the Bucs will be contenders!

Wonder about the return??

I expect it to be pretty good if BC isn't going to wait till the trade deadline when his value might be higher...of course it might also be lower.
No clue. With Taillon’s past health issues it probably won’t be a good return.

Actually not a bad return of prospects for him.

I was reading the comments on the pirates baseball network article and they mostly appear positive as well.

I havent begun to check these guys out yet.

Outside looking at a high level I don't know much either but it does seem good so far.

Signing Brian Goodwin and Tony Wolters. Woohoo World Series here we come.

Seriously good filler for a wasted season.

Another wasted asset they got nothing out of.

A .250 and a .238 career hitter, doesn't get any better than that.

The first 2 don’t matter because Rachel Phelps of Pittsburgh will never let #3 happen...ever.

Another almost warm body for the rotation.

Another warm body for the Bench. Hopefully he turns out and becomes a trade chip.
