Harry will be in camp. He can't hold out. He's not Jerry Rice or even Tim Brown.

Harry has a problem in the NFL that he didn't in college. He's not a world class sprinter and cannot get separation. Every TE on the team has better route running skills than Harry. His agent made a huge error when he said that he need to be a big target "downfield." Harry cannot outrun 98% of the CBs in the NFL. His second problem is that he does not have sure hands. He has a 46% drop rate when he's in motion. This is not a stand in place and catch the ball league.

Harry needs to do two things and become the Patriots #1 go to WR. First he has to bust his nuts and work on running exact routes. Second, he need to practice, practice, practice catching the ball while running. That won't kill him. That will make him eligible for a huge second contract. Otherwise, maybe he could make the CFL.

It's tough to call Harry a bust yet, but the writing is damn sure on the wall. If he can't prove himself this year any value for him is crap.

Harry will never be NE s # 1 he just does not have the tools. What Harry can be is a solid #2 and a real threat in the Red Zone, this is where i feel he is best suited.

I don't think he only makes the team with #1 form. He could be a useful goal-line receiver if he had the balls to fight for the ball.
His next problem should he improve? We just brought in 2 TE's that can do that job.

Yes we did and there is nothing wrong with a third threat. As I said this is his make or break year I don't see a trade happening.

IF...If he busts his ass as BigKen said, he could be a real solid #2.

As I said in another thread, the reason he is asking for a trade is he does not like the competition and does not want to put in 110% to get better.

Hard work will beat talent if talent does not work hard. Every time.

Harry is an example of everything came fairly easy for him as WR in HS and college, now that being the best is not a simple matter of being big and strong, he does not want to put the effort in to be better than the people that are his size/strength.

I don't think it's fair to say he does not want to put in the effort, none of us know what he does or does not do to train. I do believe you are correct he excelled against lesser talent and now that he is in the BIGS it shows. Was in good in HS and College? Sure! That does not always translate to good in the NFL that dynamic has proved itself to be true over and over.

Just a theory I know...but...

Put Julien Edelman's work ethic in N'Keal Harry's physique...Instant Megatron.

Big read here: note: don't watch the video unless you want to get pissed!

He most assuredly got knocked off the route, and with his size that should not happen.

Or he's naturally been bigger and stronger than 90% of his opponents. In the NFL he was 90% below his opponents.
Maybe he's just too stupid to understand that the NFL is the elite of the best. Because he's never had to work to be better than anyone else, he just can't figure out "HOW" to improve himself. If he continues as is, he'll be another black mark on BB's WR draft record and be shelving dry goods at the local grocery store.

The Pats have had huge successes with longshots (Brown, Welker, Edelman) but not with sure things. My best guess has to due with a characteristic of WRs in general: they tend to be cocky, probably the cockiest position of all, and cockiness just doesn't fly well with the Pats.

On the play you are referencing he lost when he should have won. TB thought he should have won. My guess is NKH's take was "too much to ask". In the end who hung who out to dry? I say it was NKH hanging out TB.

... or he just may be in denial that he's not the elite of the best and isn't making any additional effort. Like the joke "better to look stupid than to open your mouth and prove it". Some people rather believe their own press rather than show it.

I agree 100% NK should of won and made TB12 look like the loser in that situation. Tom probably decided right there "If he won't fight for position, he won't fight at all, and I won't go to him". If that is true and IMO it's possible NK wrote his own death warrant. This being said maybe we should trade him to Tampa?

Did you read the article? Post #34

"Harry, despite his impressive physical tools and ability to win in contested-catch situations, could not separate from coverage consistently at the Pac-12 level.

So sure, he can win 50/50 balls on Saturdays. But if you cannot separate at the college level and rely on winning at the catch point on Saturdays, what is going to happen to you on Sundays?"
