Would it be worth having a general 2021 NFL season chat thread here? Outside the Broncos gamedays and pregame threads, maybe? Guess we can try it.

Isaiah McKenzie starts off with a 75 yard return.. and @Mingo and I both shake our head at Denver. ;)

Justin Hollins looks like he is starting to bust out for the Rams.
I was thinking the same thing.
Surprises from week 1 to me:
Cowboys playing as well as they did against the Bucs.
Eagles looking good.
Steelers beating the Bills
Bengals beating the Vikings.
Cardinals blowing out the Tirana
Texans playing really well against the Jags
Packers inability to score a TD
Saints being as efficient on offense.

Had the same surprises. Dallas actually looked better than the Bucs, but sure glad they lost. Wasn't actually shocked at the Vikings getting beat, was a little more surprised they played as well as they did. Packers were a total shock, wondering if their offseason didn't play a big role in the blowout. Hate that the Chiefs won but wasn't shocked that they struggled to that win. They were so convinced the new OL would solve their problems but failed to improve that average D. They should have been totally embarrassed at that 2 pt. conversion at the beginning of the game. Cleveland was clearly mocking their D. It was the 1st week and often things look very different in the coming weeks. We'll see.

Yeah, tampa didn't play real well. Good teams like Tampa and KC find ways to win games though. Dallas could easily win their division but their Defense makes them more of a pretender the a contender. Dak has really turned the corner the last two years and he has some really nice weapons around him. The Packers were my biggest surprise if the day... I wasn't surprised they lost, but putting up 3 points against a pretty average defense especially a defense that has some major concerns in the secondary. The Jaguars losing to the Texans didn't surprise me at all. Jags will probably be better towards the end of the season but will probably be pretty bad to start the season. Texans probably not very good most of the season but they do have a lot of stop gap players who can at least make them competitive and able to beat the lesser teams. I don't expect them to be good though as the season goes on. The Falcons are awful. Maybe a top 3 draft team this year. I think they will pick early and move Matt Ryan after this year as they start the total rebuild. Matt Ryan is really the only good thing they have left there.

The Titans defense is horrible (again)....

Nice to see Joe Burrow look pretty good in his first regular season game back from that horrible knee injury.

The Bills beat the Steelers if that game is a few weeks later, IMO..

Week 1 is very tough and confusing to judge. The 9ers/Lions game was pretty wild. Liked seeing Miami beat NE.. I am sure Mac Jones will be a decent NFL QB but kind of tired of hearing about how he is going to turn that team right back around to what they were in no time.

If the Cardinals Defense can play as well as they did vs the Titans offense, watch out.

The best thing about today? (Besides us winning)

FANS!!!! It was great to have fans back in stadiums.

Congrats to Ronnie Harrison for being the first player ejected this year and very early in the game.

Guessing Jeudy will go on IR. Most high ankle sprains are said to be 4-6 week recovery with some lingering 8 weeks. Hopefully Jeudy is on that 4 week scale but my head is going to say 6 weeks so I don't get my hopes up.

Remember Garret Bolles? He was once carted off the field and we thought he was done for the year to find out he only was going to miss 1 game in which he nearly played in that game... I am not expecting that with Jeudy at all. I don't believe Bolles was ever said to have a high ankle sprain but we could be looking at a lot worse.

I think the extra week of practice has helped the quality of play.

Sounds like Eric Bienemy is the front runner for the USC HC job.

Can he leave during he season or will he have to wait until the off season,?

Unless he is up for coaching virtually he’d leave now. They fired their HC yesterday.

When’s the last time a coordinator left during the season for a HC job?

No clue to be honest. Was sorta wondering the same thing. Trying to think one off the top of my head.

Don't often see a coach at a prime spot of college football get fired this early.
