You said a while ago with just AD and THT we would have 92 mill in cap space.
how about no DJ. Again- please do no make stuff up.

Its simple math.

AD makes over 40 million a year. The cap - at its rosiest- will be 120.

you might be able to unload THT if you want.

I said this a few weeks back and @thunderc was not happy with me....lol

They have their backcourt of the future. The wild ass Westbrook show will stunt their growth.
You are flirting with some evil coming down on you! I don’t see any way Presti does this, they are happy to have him gone.

If he told yall that, he must have been on that wacky tabacky.

Based on 127 million Cap...

40 for Davis, 11 for THT and Reeves 2 mil cap hold.

127 - 53 = 74 mil...

If you keep Monk, which you should, you'd have his early bird rights and he'd have a cap hold too.

With that being said, maybe we will have another huge cap spike.
it might be outdated- but i saw an estimate of 115 for the cap- and figured id just round up to 120.

127 would be a pretty high estimate I guess.......but certainly not a ridiculous estimate.

Awhile back, when I mentioned the Lakers having in the neighborhood of $100 million coming off the books...Westbrook, Lebron and 1 year deals...you said it would equate to about $92 million in cap space.

If memory serves, that was based on a cap of $124 million.
maybe 92 million coming off the book? defnitely not 92 in cap space.

if you got rid of THT maybe you could get to about 80-85 if Davis was your only player.

Did you see the quote from his brother?

It will be tough.

You don't want a Joe Smith, Minny under the table deal situation.

But, maaaaybe he'd wait an extra year?

I think teams will throw big money at Brunson first.

"We're very loyal people," Malik's brother Marcus told McMenamin. "The Lakers were calling him nonstop once free agency opened. So we don't forget about that.

That may require using the mini MLE on him though, which keeps the team from adding another FA piece. This offseason will definitely be a bit threadbare, just like last.

I would love to see them be able to keep him. He's relatively young, so I guess he may decide that as long as he stays healthy, waiting a year for a bigger deal may be okay for him.

22/23 cap is $121M ($147M luxury). Would expect some growth to 23/24. Growth was 7.6% to 22/23, which if consistent would be $129M in 23/24, but 7.6% was the biggest bump since 2016. $127M is a pretty good estimate IMO.

I must have misread something then. I know Lebron Westbrook alone would be close to $92 million coming off the books.

We wouldn't have 92 million in cap space after next season though.

So? He's been abject disaster. Arguably one of the worst moves of all time. He HAS to be moved this summer. You cannot throw away another season just because of the idea of what you can get with cap space in 2 years.

James #2 in scoring at 37 is just unreal.

Efficient too, 52% 35% and 76% (2nd best in his career).
