This has always been a kind of odd talking point for me. What do Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey have to do with Joel Embiid being a better basketball player than Jokic?

He is a better basketball in your opinion...others would disagree

Others have every right to be wrong and just ignore the importance of defensive basketball. Did you watch the Embiid Jokic game? Malone knows what’s up. He knew Jokic had no prayer on a cover of Embiid so what they did every trip vs Embiid Harden pick and roll was blitz Harden with a double team forcing him to give it up at 35 feet to Embiid. Malone would rather have a rotation cover Embiid and make him a passer than to even ask Jokic to be the primary cover with help from a double. If that doesn’t tell the story, I don’t know what does. Jokic’s own coach knows his guy is ass as a defender. That’s why all he asked him to do at that end was blitz Harden. A whole season of that is how someone can go and produce analytics that make it look like Jokic can actually “defend”. He can’t. His coach is very good at eking out something defensively from a guy who can’t defend. Embiid and Jokic are both elite offensive performers in different ways. There is no comparison of these two guys as defenders and that’s why the correct assessment is to say that Embiid is a better player than Jokic. One guy impacts the game at both ends and the other guy is a guy his coach has to scheme for on the defensive end just to get a contribution from him.

I agree. It will be the right result but for all the wrong reasons like Jokic got it last year. People won’t even consider the difference in defense in their votes.

Sometimes players can't get healthy, it's not really something that can be foreseen by a team. But sure, he might be a bust.

Wont hurt the Warriors much if that is the case. They would just need to find another big but with the big 3 and the development of Poole, they didn't need to hit on that pick as most teams picking top 3 normally would
