No Draymond, no Splash Brothers, no Wiggins…you think that doesn’t impact the way Warriors compete in a basketball game? Fair enough. Since you went Looney it’s probably fair to point out that Dubbs real plan would probably have involved putting Wiseman on Joker. He did. He changed the culture of the Sixers years ago. His nickname is The Process for a reason. He IS the outcome of the process.

I don't think he should really want that nickname anymore, it doesn't exactly carry a positive message. That process has led to most of those pieces leaving for below previously perceived market value. Embiid is obviously the heart of the team, but every draft pick thereafter during the tank has left in disgrace (Okafor, Simmons, Fultz). The only other 1st rounder that remains a key part of the team is Maxey, #21 overall in 2020, a pick obtained in trade from OKC along with Ilyasova for Jerami Grant 4 years earlier, traded away for foreign draft rights, then reacquired in the Fultz trade in 2019. Sure, Simmons did bring back Harden in trade, but he has ended his stay with his last two teams in a very toxic manner. Short term at least, solid trade.

The Celtics stole an extra first rounder from the Sixers to trade down and still get their man. Both the Celtics and Lakers should be ashamed of that miss.

Embiid's missed at least 10 games each season of his career.

Jokic has never missed 10 games in a season.

Embiid's the better scorer & defender. But Jokic is the better rebounder, assist guy, better shooter from the field & from downtown.

...which is a day to day prop bet with Embiid and the only reason the Sixers got him in the first place. A healthy Embiid goes #1 overall to the Cavs, and we would have a whole different group of homers here declaring his godliness, lol.

This is a long and tumultuous story but the NBA was so upset by the process that they decided to walk in and muck up their franchise with the Colangelos. Hinkie made some evaluative mistakes on draft picks (Jah) but the worst misses in the process came after Silver came in and fucked them with Colangelo and his nepotism. I hope he takes pride in that nickname and he brings it to fruition with a ring.
