Broussard and Wright are right here, a lot of excuses blaming it all on Lebron. They had a chance with DeRozan and people in the FO wanted Russ too. Lebron also wanted Caruso back. Nobody is saying Lebron didn't want RW but it is still more on the FO, without a doubt. In reality Pelinka hasn't won the Lakers anything, bc Lebron "pushed" for AD. Pelinka is a cuck

Not quite, my guy.

It's not all Lebron's fault.

But, he did totally undermine the Heild trade by having secret meeting with Dame and Westbrick.

I can agree that Pelinka is a cuck fluffer for giving in.

But, what do you do when your star flat out tells you he doesn't want to play with a guy, which is ALLEGEDLY the case with Derozan?

“Because LeBron wanted an alpha to help him carry the load and kick AD in the a**,” says Bucher. “And he didn’t see that in DeRozan. The same DeRozan he routinely dispatched when they were both in the Eastern Conference. Remember how they called Toronto, ‘LeBronto,’ because of the way he cruised past them in the playoffs? DeRozan was on the other end of that. And that is why he chose Russ over DeRozan.”

Which only those 2 have.

Having said that...now that the Westbrook situation has gone off the rails and Jeanie has backed her GM...Lebron and Klutch have hopefully been neutered to the point that going forward Pelinka won't have to cede to what Lebron wants if he doesn't agree with it.
So, I get what you are saying and I think the blame should be placed 1/3 on Lebron's meddlesome ways, 1/3 on Davis being made of glass and 1/3 on Pelinka.

My blaming Rob is for a different reason than @Wamu and @Shanemansj13 , although their reasons are legit too.

Sacramento staffers were largely made aware of the Wizards trade when the deal framework was reported publicly, sources said, rather than being informed by Lakers brass. Several rival front offices have indicated Pelinka has lacked when it comes to working with opposing teams. “He wasn’t returning some teams calls at [this year’s] deadline,” one general manager told B/R. “He was an asshole as an agent,” said another assistant general manager. “He had the most powerful players and if he wanted the player moved, he would’ve eviscerated you as a staff to get whatever he wanted. You can’t do that to people, and then expect them to work with you when you join their side.”

In fairness, I don't think we can just assume that DeRozan would be doing in LA what he is doing in Chicago. And we still haven't seen how playoff DeRozan will be.

Agree.

But, he's doing what he did with the Spurs on meth.

That wasn't my point though. My point was Pelinka didn't drop the ball on Derozan.

He allegedly followed his star players wishes.

Also, we all are going to believe what we want.

So, as @dtgold88 has said for years, it's all just rumors until it comes from the player, agent, owner or the source puts their name on the line.

I obviously chose violence towards all parties involved....lol

This whole situation is funny.

According to Bill Simmons, the Lakers team owner “stood up” to LeBron James’ camp as a way to right the ship amid the tension growing internally within the franchise. “Jeanie Buss is a tough lady, man. She’s been in the league since the early eighties and I think at some point she stood up to those guys and was like, ‘No, stop. You don’t get to undermine all this. Stop. You’re here. You’re under contract next year. What are we doing?’ and I think they had a powwow, that’s what I heard. But I think she stood up for at least something. For them to unwind last week and pretend they weren’t chaos agents was really strange.”

Ummmm, Magic is in my top 3 favorite and I completely DESPISE the Lakers....lol

How to explain it?

The two.aren't mutually exclusive and we both have versatility?

Exactly. And I also like Worthy. You can like a player but not necessarily like the team. Steelers are another example for me. Although to be honest it's more jealously. Rooney's are great owners. But while I've always rooted against the Steelers Rod Woodson & Troy Polamalu are two of my all time favorite players.

If the FO "stood up" to his camp then they could very well make their own decision regarding the organization going forward, that's why I don't get why all the blame or even most of the blame goes to James. They have jobs and the power-make your decisions and in the end they were wrong. It happens. As you said earlier, you think it's their fault for different reasons and it makes total sense. I think we can agree a lot of mistakes in general have been made by this organization and it's some of Lebron's fault. I'm sure you are fine with it

That's pretty much what her Dad would have done. There are going to be disagreements in any organization because everryone has egos. The more successful the organization is, the bigger the egos will be and there will be conflict.

When things started going too far, Dr. Buss would bring everyone in and do like that Eddie Murphy skit about when your Dad would "own the house" ansd tell them "this is my team and this is what's going to happen" and everyone would get backon the same page.

Assuming this happened (and that seems to be the prevailing thought among "insiders" out here) it would have been better if Jeanie had done that prior to the Westbrook trade...but at least she did it. lol

Yep. I looooove me some Larry Bird. He's damn near tied with Magic at the top of my favorite players of all time list.

But I want the Celtics to lose every game they play. lol

Oh, yeah....

I'm totally fine with it....lol

Agree with everything you said. They let the fear of losing LeBron overrule common basketball sense.

Part of that is insecurity by Pelinka.

The other part?

A lack of respect by LeBron and Klutch.

When the Dubs kept Payton II over washed Avery Bradley, against the very public wishes of Steph, Draymond...

They didn't passively aggressive troll Myers by praising other GM's and planting the seeds of the possibility of leaving someday.

LeBron has no respect for Pelinka.

Seems like, with the exception of Riley, Lebron only respects ownership. Ultimately, it was Dan Gilbert who had to stand up to him in Cleveland and now it had to be Jeanie in LA.

The difference is, he wasn't under contract in Cleveland. In LA, he is and for the first time in his career, he has to stick around and face the music.

I rarely look at twitter but if it is NBA related it's Woj, Shams, NBA Central and then of course local reports that follow the Cavs. Hoop Central is good but it is more informative than news imo.

I don't doubt both of those rumors though.

Yep love nba central. Instead of going through the trouble of finding/following each team local writers, we get news under a central twitter account

Some would call this a lost season. He's almost 38. Should James shut it down and get ready for next season?
