if LeBron leaves after next year the only contracts they have on the books are THT at 11 million and Davis at 41.

the cap is projected to be at 124. They would have about 72 million in cap space.

the Lakers have no 2022 draft pick in the first or second round

in 2023 they have their pick since you cant trade picks in consecutive years- but they cant trade it. The Pelicans have the right to swap picks if the Lakers pick is better than the Pels. They have the less favorable of a Wizards or Grizz pick in the 2nd round.

in 2024 and 2025 the Pelicans have the option to take one of the Lakers first rounders. Basically- if the Lakers 2024 first rounder isnt any good- the Pelicans have the option to wait until 2025 and take the pick that year.

2026 they have their first rounc pick. They dealt their 2nd rounder ot the Cavs.

2027 they have their first round pick- first year they are allowed to trade a pick.
72 mill isn't 100 mill but it's a lot of cap space to sign guys.

I don’t. I mean let’s be real. The 5 position is a black hole for the Lakers so if DeAndre Jordan had anything in the tank he’d actually get minutes with you guys. I think the Sixers have better already in Bassey. But the fuck do I know. Doc has been playing broke ass Milsap in Embiid back up minutes. I will say this…Jordan is probably slightly better than Milsap. But that’s like saying, I would rather you punch me in the face than kick me in the dick.
Saw a meme recently.....it's kinda my thing. Being kicked in the dick is painful.....on the pain scale, it's like giving birth to 4 kids.....

PS: I didn't fact check this.

You are a realist.

I remember saying the same when the Nets cut him.

But, some Lakers fans actually thought he would be helpful...loL

that is strange way to put it.

because at the end of the day- its not LeBron's mess or Pelinka's mess or Jeanie's mess- its the Lakers mess.

LeBron can leave in a year and just say the hell with it. LeBron isnt going to be like- hey- my bad guys- made a bad call on RW. Ill stay around and clean up the mess. lol.

you know LeBron. If the move worked out great he would take all the credit- if the move worked out like shit- he throws up his hands and says "im not the GM- go talk to him".

No, this is Lebron's mess. As has already been stated...Pelinka had a trade for Hield so close to being finalized that Kuzma sent out a tweet about being headed to Sacramento. Westbrook was who Lebron wanted, the Lakers wanted Hield.

And who cares if Lebron can leave after next year, Westbrook will also be leaving and the Lakers will have in the neighborhood of $100 million coming off the books. If Lebron sticks to what he said and stays with the Lakers (assuming the Lakers still want him) they'll still have around $55 million coming off the books,

Augustine isn't ass.

He got waived because of the youth movement in H Town.

But, not sure how much he plays with Monk, THT, Russ, Reeves needing minutes.
With AD hurt.....Vogel plays 3 guards a lot. And Augustin will backup RW most likely.

Koby Altman- and Dan Gilbert.

LeBron's last year in Cleveland they had just gotten a likely lotto pick in the upcoming draft for Kyrie. They told LeBron- commit here and we will trade the pick for help. LeBron wanted them to trade the pick for help. LeBron wouldnt commit so they didnt trade the pick and it became Colin Sexton. @Shanemansj13

lol

Not really the same thing. They were going to do it if he committed.

Westbrook is Lebron's backup.

....which is why you didn't need one, unless he was a defender/shooter.

But, I actually like the pickup when you consider who's left on the market.

Low risk and the team needs a spark.

Monk and THT are SG's and Reaves is even listed as a SG.....I think they will be creative in giving him minutes.

So we have 1st round picks before 27 when people on here have been saying we don't.....LOL.

i guess those people dont know you cannot trade first round picks in consecutive years. Called the Stepien rule.

To be fair, a lot of folks don't know...including quite a few in the media.

I had actually forgotten that myself until Wiggy mentioned it.
