Seriously though, I actually think we may see more and more of this. With one and dones and/or if they return to letting players enter the draft from high school...plus all of the training, nutrition and medical advances designed to lengthen careers...we're likely to start seeing more guys who last 18-20+ years.

Barely. He was in the NBA for 22 years, but he stayed in college for 3 years.

Kobe actually had been in the NBA for more than half his life when he retired.

I think it’s time to get a bit more realistic about this stuff. Most everyone that is going to get vaccinated has done so. Is it really a big deal that a guy running up and down the court is not vaccinated?
