12 teams competing for spots in the East. Like you said, the 10 in the west are set and 7 of them aren’t close to contenders to this point. For example, Dallas in the #4. Dallas. This team is Doncic and some guys, they are an average team. The East is definitely the much better and more rounded conference this year and I dont see it changing barring dramatic moves at the deadline.

Phoenix, GS, and Utah probably the three best teams in the league. The next four after that are probably from the east.

Brooklyn is the best in the east no doubt, but have questions at PG and C positions. They're counting on KD and Harden to make all around them better, which is very possible.

I still like Milwaukee, but worry about the workload Holiday and Middleton have had the last 12 months. Would not be surprised if they tapped out in the second round. Now no Brook Lopez.

Utah a regular season team? Maybe, but we really only have one year of evidence on that. Before that they hadn't yet reached elite level record-wise, a defense-happy team that couldn't score with the elite prior to 2020.
