Rams receive the 251st pick in the seventh round for Cody Davis.

If we trade out of position 31 and pick-up a couple of seconds this year and a third or even some picks for next year, we will be sitting pretty.

I think we could move our 1st this year or next year for a current proven starter. Or our 2nd next year. Those are very good possibilities.

Not a big deal to me at all either. I think if you want to rebuild those picks are great. If not, getting a starter at a need position is great. No #1 pick is ever a lock for a starter

If they don't trade their first for a starter, I would be surprised if they didn't trade out of the 1st round.

The Rams are in a unique spot where they don't need a whole lot, but they will be losing some depth that will need replaced.

A 2nd and a future 1st would be ideal, but unlikely. But Snead has been very good at draft trades, so I'm sure he'll work something out that will be most beneficial for the team overall

Really think it would be for a starter? I think it would be for more picks(this year and/or next).... To me, the key is Whitworth, if he retires, this are VERY different draft-wise...

Yes, I think it could be for a starter.

The Rams will be losing some position starters that will need replaced. Suh, Fowler, Joyner, possibly Whitworth, maybe Saffold.
If there was a starter they could plug and play, I could see them swinging a trade

GMFB just reported Whitworth coming back for the 2019 season.

Walter Football has the Rams picking this guy in Round 1: Zach Allen, 6-4/280.

Strengths:
  • Absolute bully on the field
  • Very physical
  • Tough as nails
  • Good motor
  • Powerful bull rush
  • Can set the edge
  • Strength to work off blocks
  • Very good run defender
  • Takes on and sheds blocks
  • Strong hands
  • Lateral anchor
  • Strong to hold his ground
  • Disciplined
  • Intelligent
  • Can rush from the inside
  • Arm length - 34.5 inches
  • Big hands - 10.25 inches
  • Excellent fit as a five technique in a 3-4
  • Sturdy to be a base end in a 4-3

Weaknesses:
  • Not a great athlete
  • Lacks speed as an edge rusher
  • Needs more pass-rushing moves
  • Could be solid pro, but not as a pass-rusher

Summary: At the start of the 2018 NFL Draft process, there was a lot of hype for Boston College defensive end Harold Landry. However, Landry went on to have a rough senior year and it was Zach Allen that was the most impressive player on the BC defensive line. During the fall of 2017, a national scout told me that Allen had first-round potential if he decided to enter the 2018 NFL Draft due to the excellent season he was putting together. In 2017, Allen totaled 100 tackles with 15.5 tackles for a loss, six sacks, three passes broken up and an interception. That was coming off a solid sophomore campaign with 36 tackles with 10 for a loss, six sacks and four passes batted.

Same here.... seems like a guy we could get in the early 2nd if we traded back.

I like this mock alot only IF we sign Leary WHEN Saffold leaves. I hope we also sign Ramsey. Don't forget we still have yet to see OKO play and Fowler will probably be signed. The Rams are going to let Suh test FA but have let him clearly know they def want him back.

Arthritis in his knee at 24? If this is true, once again our franchise are caught with their pants down... Let's hope to GOD this isn't true, because if so, we just paid a TON of money to a guy who will be lucky to last 2 or 3 years as a basass weapon for our O(and that already seems to be with an effective backup RB)...

I just hope that this doesn't mean that we enter the Bell sweepstakes because I want nothing to do with him. I'd rather take a flyer on a mid-late round pick with a running back than him.
