I think a fair compromise would be something like what the NBA had with the amnesty clause.

Stretch provisions are like a more player friendly amnesty, but I am not opposed to that as long as there are strict limits to how often teams can use them.

In the NFL, good, productive players get cut all the time because the team can find a younger, cheaper and probably less productive alternative.

And I believe that is wrong.

As I said, I don't think that's a crazy opinion at all (the latter one) I just am not bothered by NFL setup as much. wish MLB would allow an amnesty as well. Though I guess wouldn't really help my team at this point.

Kipnis is the obvious choice.

But considering they didn't spend any money on an OF despite dropping some serious payroll last year...I'm not optimistic they would've signed another OF anyway

He is the choice, but at this point (his contract expires end of this year) it wouldn't make much difference.
