Nelson Cruz has been one of my favorite twilight pick ups in years of late or pick up of any sort. A true baseball player. That double he smashed with the bases loaded the other day to take the lead was a fist pump moment the Twins don't get very often in years past.

You guys remember the players our former front office used to tell us would take care of our DH power problems? Craig Monroe, Brett Boone, Rondell White, Tony Batistia and his ridiculous clown show open batting stance?

This year has been fun to watch.

Cruz has lost some off his bat speed. Its clear he isnt seeing the ball like he use to. Against weak pitchers, he can still do damage, but against good pitchers he is getting owned. Nice to see him crack a few homers, but i have sat through far too many situations already this season where he has had a chance to really make the difference, and he cant even put wood on the ball. All those strike outs, all those runs left on the bases. I would not be counting on him to succeed regularly.
