Nice to grab a win, but this game was really blah. Parker is not a closer. If we think he will be able to get the job done come Oct, you are blinded by your rose colored glasses. We flex our bull pen muscle, only to expose how ridiculously weak we are in that aspect. If I were in the FO of this team, I would do almost anything to improve that situation. The chance to win doesn't come around that often for the Twins. You cant waste what we have going on this season. Bring it home. We have the money.

Only downside to Astudillo being demoted is it makes it tougher to play Garver on days Castro catches.

Another game early on where our pitcher is not getting the same calls as their pitcher.

Farmer 4 pitch walk to Kepler to lead off the game. His next pitch to Polanco is clearly a ball. Called a strike. Guy isn’t even near the zone and still gets a courtesy call.

Gibson has not yet gotten 1 borderline call in 2 innings. And his pitch count is sky rocketing because of it.

The Ks are becoming a real issue lately.

We have 9 Ks against the fucking garbage Tigers bullpen in 6 innings today.

Alcantara came in with 15 Ks in 27 innings. Immediately Ks Sano and Schoop.

This game is a season low point so far. Got 3 innings to get some damn heart.

Yep, remeber the san diego falacy? I can admit when im wrong, and further metrics prove that his mastery of the slider coincides with his rise to dominance. Amazing how much faster a 96 mph fastball looks when you are compensating for some perfectly executed off speed slinkers.

I get it, and im not going to lie. I watched him for awhile since he was a home grown boy, but he seemed like a one trick pony. A strong, yet no movement fast ball and a decent breaker. Dime a dozen. I stopped paying attention for the most part to "scout" other players and when i heard he was having success in S.D. i just assumed.....well duh, hes a lefty. You forced me to do further research and by doing so, my assumptions were wrong. He mastered a perfect counter to people sitting on that fastball.
