When your "ace" pitches, you should feel like you have a real good chance to win that game. Not with Berrios. Its just the opposite actually. I get nervous.

It's getting to the point with Berrios where you almost have to wonder if there is either something physically wrong with him or that he's tipping his pitches and the only team that hasn't figured that out is us.

This meltdown is worse than anyone coulda expected. But I saw regression coming, and others who follow really closely did too.

When his ERA was sub 3. His FIP was in the 3.8s. Which is right in line with his eras the last two years. Guy was getting lucky

Last year he was an all star. Crashed back to earth right after.

Guy is what he is, very talented but far from an ace or even a #2 so far because he’s simply too prone to meltdown games.

Bad thing about this year is they all are coming in succession. Usually he’s more of a 3 straight good starts so you know a clunker is coming guy.

Berrios is, at best, a number 2 guy. More likely number 3. I think the pressure is just too much for him to bare. I also think, that out of all the pitchers we have, he would benefit the most from us landing a bonafide ace to lead the staff.

Also, Randy Dobnak has a Jerry Koosman like start to his career. 9 innings 13 hits no runs. Back in 1980, Koosman pitched a shut out vrs the A's where he gave up 14 hits. At the time, it was the most hits given up in a shut out. Spent the whole game getting out of jams. I don't know, just jumped out at me. Nostalgia I guess.
