Senior Cruz had himself a game. Good job. We need to make sure we keep beating the teams we should be beating. It wont help us in the play offs, though. Any of the teams we might meet (Bost, NY, Clev, Hou) will spank us in a 7 game series. But a lot can happen between now and then, so we still need to pad our stats and take care of business. If we get hot again, we just might get lucky. But I agree, we need to be able to beat the Yankees, or none of this will matter.

RHP SP Chris Vallimont (#23 prospect)
and the infamous player-to-be-named-later

Miami acquire:
1B Lewin Diaz (#30 prospect)

Romo has a career 2.91 ERA and was a contributing part of 3 world championships for the Giants, who will be a free agent after the season (he signed a 1-year, $2.5 million deal in February). Both prospects are around the High-A level.

My first reaction is this is a reasonable price for a rental. I wouldn't be surprised if we try to re-sign Romo after the season if he pitches well for us. Miami must be really high on Diaz for them to be sending us a prospect and a PTBNL in the deal.

I told my son i was predicting if the Twins didn't have at least a 10 game lead at the All Star break, they'd be out of first by the end of July and out of the wild card chase by the end of August. I'm afraid my pessimistic prediction is coming true.

You could see it coming. There is something wrong with this team as far as consistency. You just never know when they will fall flat or get the job done. Hitting or pitching.
