My mom passed away this past Saturday in her sleep at the nursing home.

I'm currently dealing with funeral arrangements and estate stuff.

I will get this done but right now my priorities are elsewhere.

I had placed the "also receiving votes" team point values on the season-ending values but not the pre-season values. After a re-ranking of the Pre-Season rankings the results are as follows:

Hopefully, your brothers and sisters are nice about it and not dicks and twats.

My brother was cool about everything, he said, "Great, you are taking care of everything? Awesome!!". On the other hand, the first thing my sister wanted was money, money, and money. Was she going to help do anything? No. Did she help me move Dad into the nursing home? No. Did she visit Mom and Dad? No. Did she visit Dad once Mom died? No.

I could have been a dick and taken all my expenses for traveling(plane tickets, car rentals, hotels, food) to see him and spending months doing things, but I did not. I even purchased him his mobility Scooter when I took his car away from him because at the age of 94, he was a danger on the road. He had an expired license but his license plates were valid.

What I learned, having a trust is one heckuva lot better than going through State Probate. My wife and I then created a trust and placed all of our assets into it, except for the odd ones that state law or federal law says nope, you can't do that. Which could be an IRA, or ROTH IRA, or the 401K. I forget which one.

If you inherited any assets that are reported on a Schedule D, such as stocks, mutual funds, bonds according to Publication 551, Page 9, Inherited Property (this might pertain to any real estate or other assets, all our parents hard assets(house, cars, furniture, etc) was sold and converted to cash so they would generate income to help pay for nursing home costs.)

FMV Fair market value = Date of Individual's Death


Reminder, be sure to call pensions and Social Security to cancel all payments. Hopefully, you had access to all that information beforehand.

If your parent(s) had any liabilities(outstanding loans) and you did NOT COSIGN for them, you will receive a letter from the company or they sell the loan to a collection agency, they will harass you incessantly trying to get money out of you. I had this problem. The collection agencies are real fucks.

I called the one up, told them to fuck off. There is no money in the estate. I did not cosign, I am not paying the loan. they continued to send me letters and phone calls.

I then found out that my Father's Life Insuance Company USAA was charging my father a premium to cover outstanding debts, and USAA is the one that SOLD the debt to the collection agency. Go figure.

Life Insurance Companies are fucks.
Collection Agencies are fucks.
State Probate are fucks.

Everyone is completely out to fuck over the bereaving family members.
