Berrios with another gem.

Let's just keep having him hang out down there

I don't think it's his stuff we need to be worried about, I think it's his brain. He seemed scared when with the big club...

Same with our entire rotation for the last 10 years

Yeah, but none of them have been the prospect Berrios is...

Exactly.

So like every good organization let your prospect work it out up here.

He's not learning anything dominating career minor leaguers.

He's building confidence and most GOOD teams don't let their prospects work it out with the big club. It's really worked wonders with Buxton hasn't it?

Buxton also too good for AAA. Happens everytime he goes down there.

Yes, the good teams do let their studs come up early.

You play your best players. That's part of being good.

Teams don't let them stay up when they are doing...

.211 AVG and a .271 OBP

&

8.02 ERA and a 1.869 WHIP

They are not our best players, at least not right now.

You say Buxton is too good for AAA but he has never dominated there for a full season.

2016 he had 190 at bats at Rochester
2015 he had 292 at bats at Rochester & Chattanooga
2014 he had 198 at bats at New Britain, Fort Myers & The Arizona Fall League

He didn't dominate at any point during those 3 seasons.

In 2013 he did do very well but it was A and high A ball, IMO that's not the way to do it, he needed to dominate for a full season at Chattanooga or Rochester before he was brought up.

I do agree Berrios should be with the big club but I think he's not because management is afraid to watch him bust, i'm afraid too, that's why I keep telling you he should stay there and dominate longer.

Full year at AAA?

Many top prospects skip that shit all together(or play there minimally).

Your argument doesn't work. The Twins sit on their prospects. They always have. It does no good having them play against guys that they are too good for. Berrios isn't walking guys down there. Maybe his control is better or maybe AAA hitters suck at laying off pitches.

The only fact is he's too fucking good down there and he's our most talented pitcher.

Staying there and dominating longer does nothing. He's too good for those guys. There's one way to learn, face good hitters.

And pointing to managements thought process just proves my point. Great trade today btw

You said AAA, if it were up to me they would have stayed at Chattanooga for a year not Rochester.

Also, if you actually look at it we don't sit on our prospects, I always thought we did too but the days of TK are over...

I know I did because that's where they are at.

But they don't belong there for a full year. You just don't learn anything there for an extended period.

So other teams are doing something we aren't in some way. We continually have decent at best prospects.

Hopefully Sano at least changes that trend.

One full year at Chattanooga isn't an extended period.

I think it was LaTroy Hawkins I heard talking about the difference between now and when he was in the Twins system, he talked about when he was trying to get called up to the big club they would not even think about calling you up if you couldn't throw all your pitches over consistently. That's obviously not the case anymore Berrios among others have proved that.

I think our system and the coaches in it just aren't as strong as they were in the past.

I think Sano is well on his way to being a dominate player in this league for hopefully a decade with the Twins!

I'd like to see Berrios come up and do well too but from what I understand he still has some developing to do. The manner in which he is getting outs currently is working for him in AAA but will not work in the majors. Once he takes that next step it's showtime for the kid.

Like I said before I think it's his confidence, he acted like he didn't trust his stuff when he was up. Once he realizes he can dominate if he trusts his stuff at the big league level he will be fine.
