There's no question that we need pitching, but, buy what, exactly? We have at best, 1.5 pitchers we can rely on. Who do we move to get pitching? They're 2 years away from truly being a contender. I'm not interested in mortgaging the future just to maybe sneak into the playoffs with a rental player. Terry Ryan left the cupboards bare.... especially the pitching.

Santana is under Twins control through 2019. Mauer comes off the books after next year....

Padres are complete sellers id snag some relievers from them.

Package prospects and make a move for Cole or Gray.

We would have to give up a good amount. But we wouldn't be throwing it all away.

But everything I hear is he works really damn hard. Liriano couldn't get it in his head how to dominate

He'll have to adjust, as the hitters adjust to him, but he's got 3 pitches.

As for the Liriano reference, I was thinking of the injury, because he was lights out dominant until his arm broke down. Overworked too soon.

Turley continues to impress me. In only two thirds of an inning, he managed to raise his ERA by two runs. If he continues to trot out to the mound, can we see him post triple digits by the end of the year?
