Apparently Magic and Pelinka have walked into a shithole created by short buss and his stupidity. This article pretty much explains what Magic and Pelinka are fixing to return the Lakers to their glory days. Lots of people being fired and departments "fixed".

Lakers part ways with scout Chaz Osborne

Just shows how stupid Short Buss really was. He thinks beong a scout is easy because he thinks a scouts job is to find guys star players. It's not. A scouts job is the find the 2nd round guy who plays like a first rounder or find the undrafted free agent that turns into a solid contributor.

Anyone can find Kobe Bryant. It's finding Derek Fisher that makes a good scout.

Well its not like no one in the department was doing their job. They did find good players with Nance, Zubac, and Clarkson.

Yep TJF12. Magic and Pelinka and eventually everyone else has/will discovered/discover the brevity of Short Buss's inepitude. Dude is really screwed in the head with some of his thinking. I am speculating here but I bet Kupchack just couldn't wait to get the hell out of the GM job and far away from that little turd!

Nearly a coin flips chance of keeping the protected pick, and nearly a 1 in 6 chance of getting the No. 1 pick overall...

The Lakers will have a 46.9 percent shot at keeping their top draft pick this year, as their fate will be decided in a week at the NBA Draft Lottery on May 16.

Los Angeles has a 15.6 percent chance of winning the lottery and receiving the first-overall pick. It has similar odds of selecting second (15.7) and third (15.6).

However, there is also a 53.1 percent chance of the pick falling between the fourth and sixth spots. If this happens, it will instead be conveyed to Philadelphia (via Phoenix) as a result of the 2012 trade for Steve Nash.

Lately, fortune has favored the Lakers, who drafted second overall in back-to-back years, netting D’Angelo Russell and Brandon Ingram with those picks.

The Lakers — whose odds were set after finishing the season with the league’s third-worst record (26-56) — will be represented on stage at the lottery by President of Basketball Operations Magic Johnson.

Meanwhile, General Manager Rob Pelinka will be backstage as a drawing of ping-pong balls determines the order of the draft.

The 2017 NBA Draft will be held about five weeks later on June 22 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Regardless of how the lottery shapes up, the Lakers will also have the 28th-overall pick thanks to a midseason trade with Houston.

Real glad the season ending winning streak didn't bite the team in the ass. They needed to end the season the way they started it, winning!

Goes to show, never be worried about doing the right thing, and I'm proud Luke's team knew the right thing was winning and not tanking.

The odds of getting #2 three straight years is ridiculous

Love the result. Number two overall right behind the hated green people from Boston.
