James Madison NDSU final would be epic.James Madison all the way. I'd love for an upset, but I think James Madison runs the tables this year.
This certainly suxxx.
24 team playoff--- 10 auto-bids, 14 at large.
One auto-bid team in with a 5-6 record
At large
5 teams with a 7-4 record
4 teams with an 8-3 record
McNeese finished with a 9-2 record and didn't get a bid. They finished with a higher SRS rating(whatever the fuck that is) than 5 of the at large teams'
So, FUCK the ncaa because they certainly fucked McNeese.
What was the rationale for leaving them out?
There are a number of FCS conf. that are this way. Big Sky has 13 teams. a few more have 12. Some play only 8 conf games, some play 9. So this isn't the reason.I can give you a guess why they were left out.
The Southland members do not play every member of the league.
McNeese didn't play Sam Houston and Nicholls St didn't play C. Ark.
McNeese and Nicholls St tied for 3rd place in the league with 7-2 records.
Nicholls beat McNeese 37-35.
The committee must have believed that the Southland wasn't worthy of a 3rd at-large
spot and gave the 2 at-large spots to Nicholls St based on their head-to-head win, and Sam
Houston State (that is seeded). Central Ark was the league champ and is seeded.
Of the 8 teams seeded...Only 6 were Conf Champs. (Thus the conf champs that weren't seeded
would get an at-large spot)
Conference Champs get an auto-bid(not an at large bid) and that's it. Does not guarantee a higher seed or home game. Once the teams are decided, they are seeded by the ranking/rating, conf. champ or notOf the 8 teams seeded...Only 6 were Conf Champs. (Thus the conf champs that weren't seeded
