I saw the fundamentals of football improve 10-fold from the Pelini era to the Riley era. That much is apparent.

Some of that stuff should improve in year two of the offense. Year one was about getting the offense installed for the good of the team moving forward. We've still got the Armstrong factor being a square peg in a round hole, but the other 10 guys on the field should know their assignments better.

They have to run the same offense this season, so I expect Tommy's propensity for throwing pics to plague Nebraska one more season.

I'm concerned about the interior D-Line as well.

Tommy brings on quite a bit of that squareness himself with his decision making.

He needs to understand this is his last chance. If he wants to contend for a Championship of any kind he's gonna have to stop trying to save the day every single down.

That was entirely my point. Being a QB is just as much mental as it is physical. Nebraska ran the ball 76% of the time in the Foster Farms Bowl and passed it 23% of the time.

Riley and Langsdorf called that game to suit Tommy's strengths because it was must win. One, to make up for the 7 losses during the (throw away) regular season, and two to finish on a positive note heading into this season.

They'll be back to passing again in 2016. I can't say as I necessarily blame them because it's more about the 10 other guys learning on offense than it is about one guy (Tommy) who won't be here in 2017.

I agree. Especially with the fact that we're recruiting WR's like crazy.

Riley isn't going to go off on a running spree in the wake of Nebraska's first multi 4-star WR recruiting season ever. With potential to pick up more WR's as well.

That's really good news... the hope is that he would commit to us on his visit today and cancel his visit to Ole Miss. We shall see. As far as I know he is still planning on going to Ole Miss one more time.
