I called Astros vs Dodgers before post season started. Spot on.
Not like some. Never predict any thing but try to make people who do look bad.
To easy this year. To easy

A lot of big talk by doug today. How he picked Astros, Doodgers, etc.

Hey doug...remember you also picked Detroit to win the AL Central and for Cleveland to "drift to the bottom". LOL. Forgot that, huh? And remember all your big talk about UM winning a "Natty"? That prediction does not look good. And I recall that you have predicted that the Tigers would win the AL Central for (at least) the last three seasons....while declaring first the Royals and then the Indians would never win anything. LOL. You crunched the numbers then, did you????
Spin, dougy. Spin. :laugh3:
OH....and how many times have you been wrong on the OSU/UM game? :laugh3:

And doug... #3 ranked Penn State this Saturday....in Happy Valley. Jimbo going to suit up and get behind center?
:harbs3:

Verlander is one of the best to toe the rubber.
He is far from being done. Astros will get a few great years from him. HOF...will be waiting. Kluber shined as bright as verlander but for a much much shorter time ..try doing it as long as verlander. Then compare them

I must say, it was impressive to still see 96-97 MPH on pitch #120.

I said this when he was at a 4.50 or so ERA around the All-Star Break: that his fastball velocity was still very good and his offspeed stuff still had good bite. He was struggling mightily with location in the first half (walk rate around 4). When the location improved, he was back to being an ace.

I've noticed that HOF indicators are not unanimous on a Verlander induction. I would think a WS ring, a top 3=5 CYA finish and, eventually over 200 wins, should go a long way to locking up a plaque. A shame he couldn't get the ring in Detroit. (But it was partly his own fault)

Yeah, I was only agreeing with the "He is far from being done" comment, not that he's a lock for the HOF.

He has an MVP, Cy Young, and two more CYA runner-up finishes. That said, if his ERA stays around 3.50, he will need 200+ wins (probably 225+) and 3000 strikeouts to have any chance at the HOF.

No argument here.

I am a fan and student of the game. What verlander is doing is history in the making. Iffy thinks because he wears different laundry you should not watch. 12 year old????

:pound::pound::pound:

A special ed student of the game, maybe?

I know doug won't bring this up....but it is very interesting.

The AP rankings today placed Michigan at #19, one spot below the Spartans....which I guess makes sense. Just as important, the Wolverines opponent this Saturday, Penn State, is ranked #2. Behind only the dominant Alabama.

In all seriousness doug: This Saturday will probably be THE game of the season for the Wolverines. If they want to get back to being considered a serious "player" this season, they need to upset PSU on their turf. Mr. Doug...you've talked about Harbaugh being a genius ('1-4'?) - well he better pull every trick out of the his book or UM will be just another B1G 10 also-ran. Sort of like Indiana?

Ah, glory days of UM QBs. You don't see that anymore. When was the last time UM had a QB worth 1/2 a scrot hair?

Ain't that the truth ... I remember when Brady was the back up at Michigan. The Pats got quite the steal in the 6th round or maybe Brady was bless to be on the Pats ... either way it works.

I think you guys are going to have 3 losses, when its all said done. Your boys aren't looking too good.

We already lost to Michigan State and we are going to be underdogs to Penn State and ohio state ... I'd be happy with 3 losses ... I'd be freakin' ecstatic with 1 loss!!!

Michigan's QBs in Big 10 play

47/86 (54%) 540 Yards 1 TD 4 INT

That's against Purdue Michigan State and Indiana too. Pretty horrid.

Its not what you done in the past ... we have at Penn State, at Wisconsin and ohio state in the Big House to worry about. We are 5-1, if we take care of business we'll be alright.

So....we've got doug down as picking UM over Penn State. How many points did you get on your bet doug? I'm hearing UM +10.....that's kind of tight.

I'd like to see the Wolverines win....make those Wisc and OSU games mean something. But I don't think UM has the offense to pull off an upset.
