Hamilton beats Speedy Creek 2-1 despite 54 saves from Broncos keeper Stuart Skinner. Swift Current needs to beat Regina on Wednesday in order to keep their Mem Cup hopes alive.

Didn't get to see it, but looking at the box score it seems like Swift got their asses handed to them despite only losing by 1. You never know what will happen from here on out, but I don't think the WHL is gonna get back in the win column this year.

I probably should be going for Bathurst, but I tend not to cheer for the Q champs at the Memorial Cup unless it's my team, especially when it's another Maritime Division team. So right now I'm just cheering for anyone but Bathurst (not as passionately as I might if it were Moncton or Halifax though).

Bathurst has had some rough years and there's been rumours of the team possibly leaving forever. I believe they are the smallest market in the entire CHL. In a rebuilding season for my team, I didn't mind seeing them have a great year with much stronger attendance than what they usually get. That being said, a Q championship is good enough. I hope someone else wins the Memorial Cup. :)

The last three WHL champions have gone winless at the Memorial Cup (Brandon, Seattle, and now Speedy Creek).

oh that's a shame.
Bronco's pull within one, then pull the goalie again with 2 minutes left
goalie hesitated getting to the bench, and gets called for too many men.
powerplay goal to make it 6-4

lBroncos are done
Titan straight to the final
ad Pats vs Bulldong for the other seat at the table.

That puck was in before time expired, but the Broncos didn't clear the Pats zone in time.

What an exciting finish to that game. But yeah too bad about that "too many men" penalty.

Here's hoping it's Acadie-Bathurst and Hamilton in the final. I was hoping the WHL would win it, but I just can't pull for a team that lost in the first round.

Tonight was the Broncos 101st game they've played this season. The Pats in contrast played their 82nd game tonight. You can't tell me that fatigue isn't a factor for the Broncos and why they're going home.

I agree, what does everyone think of the host getting an automatic berth in the Memorial Cup final? I disagree with it. I'd like to see a thing where a tournament occurs between the 3 league runners up and the host team to determine the 4th team in the Memorial Cup.

Not sure what was more cringe-worthy there. David Branch's French (not to mention getting a name wrong) or those awful bagpipes.

Happy for Acadie-Bathurst, they are a small market team and won their league thus are very worthy champions.

Don Hay = assistant?

Current head coach (Mike Johnston) is also GM, so I guess he doesn't mind giving up the coaching responsibility,
Hay doesn't seem to be an 'assistant' kind of guy with his pedigree.
