Watched a little tape. Seems like he does everything well as far as being a runner/pass-pro/catching, but isn't great in any area. Nothing real flashy. Really feel there were better options, and we definitely should've attempted to jump up and take Dixon/Booker instead. Collins/Williams were better options in the 5th at that position IMO

Smallwood has good vision and catches well ... just not a tackle breaker; goes down rather easily, but when he has good blocking has the speed to take it to the house.

btw, Mayock went back and praised our pick of Seumalo ... says he's one of the smartest players in the draft and could be an excellent Center who should fit right into the interior Line somewhere. Seemed really high on him.

Kid is fast to the hole, like his vision and he does catch the ball well, which is a huge thing for a WCO. For a 5th round pick I am fine with it. Local kid from Delaware to.

Smallwood was arrested in 2014, attempting to get a witness to murder investigation. Charges wee later dropped. FWIW. Howie gets blamed for picks, but its the scouts and coaches who recommend players, and Howie makes a "collaborative" decision. Let's see how the whole draft plays out. There are reasons why teams like certain players over others. Hope they make a good pick we like with the next pick. WR??

Next pick should be on defense. Linebacker, CB or possibly DT.

Smallwood v. Baylor.
+ Gets outside the tackles quickly
+ Decent vision between the tackles
+ Decent pass blocking
- Doesn't break tackles
- Okay hands

Smallwood is a good player. Similar player to Fozzy Whitaker. Not special in any area but just a good player. Probably better RBs to draft here, but Smallwood is an NFL back.

Poor Merrill. We got Vaitai from TCU.
I'm totally fine with that.

Very disappointed in how they handled this 5th round. They reached bad.

Better highlights in the OK St game.

OL Halapoulivaati Vaitai. Offensive line getting crowded.

I like Vaitai a good deal ... Really good base and feet ... moves well for a Tackle. No problem at all with this pick. Eagles obviously thought they needed OL help and got it. Needs some work as a run blocker, but a good pass protector.

Only pick I wish we could've changed was Smallwood. I definitely would've moved up to the end of the 4th and secured one of Dixon or Booker. Or taken Williams/Collins over him, but hey - Collins hasn't even been drafted yet so maybe there's something going on there. We got our franchise QB, a versatile and talented interior lineman, and a good 5th round developmental RT prospect -- I'm very good with that.
