Isner up 2 sets to 0
i was wondering if janowicz was going to come into this year's aussie open in his best form

sadly, he has not

what a waste of talent

glad for johnny isner, of course. he works as hard as anybody, and deserves all of his success

Typical Donald. Get our hopes up by performing well at the Open and does this

Poor service game from Verdasco. Nadal breaks back and is now serving for the 2nd set

omg, verdasco beat him

wow

I'm stunned to see this. Went to bed after Rafa won the 3rd expecting him to easily win the 4th set to win the match.

Also Halep eliminated by some qualifier. Wtf is going on?

Interesting night last night:

1. After years of tough losses in tight situations against good players, Verdasco finally comes through. Good for him. I only saw the first set, but Rafa looked really tight. That double fault to give Verdasco the set point was a killer. Rafa's serve was suspect and he was hitting the ball more centrally from both wings. His only good moments were on the run. The straight-forward baseline rallies were all Verdasco.

2. Nadal's absence really opens things up for Stan, but also Milos or Stan. Those three guys are all in the same quarter, but whoever wins it should have an easy route to the semis. The best player left in Nadal's quarter is Monfils.

3. I told you all Fritz would do well. He actually took more games than Sock. Hopefully, he can find some better draws in the next few months and get consistent wins at the tour level.

4. I missed that Brian Baker was back. Even though he lost in four tight sets, I was fully resigned that he was done. It is awesome to see he was out there again.

5. I also went to sleep when Chardy and Gulbis were deep in the fifth. I am glad to see Chardy, who is the better and more sane player, pulled it out over the billionaire. I actually think he probably finds a way to win that quarter and love his game.
