Superbowl Champions with some additions and subtractions. Had a good draft and now busy group of UDFA's.
Some or several are going to make this team. I don't think many of the veteran additions are automatic to make the team......

For some context, Cox 13 interceptions would be the leader among CB's on Baltimore 1st string.
Webb 2 $7.5 million has 11
Arrington $2 million has 9
Smith $1.4 million has 5

If he has anything left in the tank, he will be a bargain.....

Cox before all the injuries set in was actually highly rated. I remember him on the San Diego Chargers and man the kid when on the field was lights out. You just knew though that by the 2nd time you played them he would be hurt. So if he can give you 16 games and has fully healed up then this could be a bargain compared to the production.

Thanks Dumler. I suspected as much but I don't recall seeing him play. I don't know what type of injuries they were. I'm going to research. If he can play even a back-up role, he would be a real plus. A highly-skilled veteran influence can't hurt in camp. Good luck, Cox.

Well with Cox the issue seems to be not so much the big serious injury but a ton of little injuries. He did get put on IR once for a knee injury but that was the most serious it got. Otherwise it was he would have an abdominal strain, or tweaked ankle, hamstring, chest strain, back pain, or groin injury. It just seems like it is always something and he is not quite the type to play through the injury. It is what eventually lead to him getting benched in San Diego as he became a liability to start each week and his play was all over the board from week to week. Ever since then he has bounced from team to team. He is a good camp body and if he can put those injuries behind him for a full season can definitely become a huge steal but I would say he is still a long shot to make it on the final 53. At this point though he isn't signed to anything huge and cutting him really isn't a big deal so low risk high reward type move.

One thing we do know, Belichick doesn't tolerate guys having boo-boos and not being able to practice full out and play full out. If he starts getting little dings, the alarm will go off in Belichick's head and Cox will be gone. Sometimes guys like him sit out a year, think about all of the little things that lead to being a spectator and make a commitment to come back and excel. If he does that this year, he'll sign a huge free agent contract somewhere else next year.

Absolutely. but if he excels here in this climate and get's a big contract, there is no certainty that he'll stay on track when he leaves NE. His agent will know this and if he excels, they'll have to consider staying.....
