Get traded and go into the Hall in one week? Goddam it I've entered a parallel universe again haven't I?
Do you think he will go in as a Coyote?

Maybe he does not want to go to Toronto. Make it Philadelphia and he will go.
Um, he sorta lives in Toronto
BUT PRONGER IS NOT FUCKING RETIRED YET!
The league should make the Flyers suffer the total cap hit they avoided with this shit THIS YEAR.
Back to Lidstrom, is he a top 5 defenseman of all time? I have Orr and Harvey as 1-2, after that it gets pretty contentious with guys like Potvin, Niedermayer, Robinson, and Lidstrom in the mix.
I think if I had any 3 on that list, it is a good list.
Oh, and I would add Serge Savard.
Yeah, if Salming were on a consistently good team he'd be on that list. Even here, he's known as a great player but he doesn't exactly get the "legend" status guys who played on good teams do. Gilmour is far more exalted here than Borje. For the Savardian spin-a-rama alone. I think Borje Salming doesn't get the love because the Leafs for the most part were pretty bad when he was there.

Bourque and Kelly deserve some discussion, too.
I was going to say this.
This site doesn't need me anymore.
But if you leave we might forget about that... the guy. The umpire guy. Whatshisface.
Except Salming needs "possesses one of the most gruesome/badass injury scars of all time."As much as I love Salming, I would not put him in Top 5 all time. He was my favorite, as a kid growing up.
In the debate yesterday about D-men and whether they play soft or hard, I thought a lot about Borje. His game was totally "soft" by some definitions. Master of the pokecheck, used great skating and stick skills to defend. Not a physical guy at all. One of the descriptions of Doogie Hamilton could have been a word-for-word description of Salming.
