Peters' best time was 4.53... Not that great. Even Quinten Rollins ran a 4.57. Waynes probably sealed his top CB status with his 4.31.

Waynes...yeah, doubtful he was really probable @ 22 anyway.

I'd still take Peters, PJ Williams, Collins, or Rollins...and to be honest I'm not real sure of the hierarchy but it seems like a lot of people like the coverage ability of Peters & Williams over Collins & Rollins.

Damn... Just saw PJ posted a 4.57 as well... There is only about 10 DB's that ran 4.4's or better. Makes me wonder if the guy clocking them isn't doing his job correctly lol

Collins was one of them running under 4.5 and he might be the biggest CB there, but I'm not too worried about it.

Some of the lessor known guys (like Darby) probably came into the combine knowing they needed a great time just grab somebody's attention in the 2nd/3rd round. Post Combine my mind hasn't changed much...3 to 4 CBs will go in the 1st round I think.

Yea I've never counted anyone out because of poor workout results. Its about how you play on the field, not on a turf in shorts. Not to sound cliche in quoting Tomlin, but "Football in shorts is...Football in shorts...Nobody finds out more about a man until the pads come on"

Exactly Face.

I will say post combine this is what has changed if anything...Beasley has move into the top 10...as much for his strength and size than anything...we already knew he was fast. Also very likely Erick Flowers has shot up the ranks as well. Dupree needs to have a good pro day to stay in the top 15 and Melvin Gordon may have dropped a tad, but I can see DAL taking him 1st round still. If his game tape measures out, the freakishly athletic CB from UConn may have enticed a GM to call his name in the 1st round.

Holy hell that kid from UConn had a broad jump over 12ft and a vertical of 44.5in??? That's ridiculous!!!

Post combine...I'm seeing PIT all over the place...from OT/G, TE, OLB, CB, even S...what's crazy is all have some merit!

I don't feel the Steelers are that far off from being a legit contender, but that's lot of holes. Granted...TE & OL are not holes, but I can see Colbert going that direction depends on how the board plays out.

I'm pretty comfortable not going OLB/DE @ 22, but if they don't go CB...imo they might need to move up to get a potential starter or gamble on IEO from ORE.

Yeah, but several sources close to the Steelers had them taking Gilbert, and then Fuller LY...both were off the board...I can't confirm that, but Ed Bouchette was one of the sources.

That said...because of the wide need base...it will be hard for Colbert to disappoint me @ 22. I saw Dave Bryan mocking Scherff to us...not an immediate need, but hell yeah I would take him. Foster's deal is up next yr.

It's been a position that he has ignored for a long time. And it has caught up with him.

Yeah...coupled with the over extension of Ike, they lost out on Lewis.

Colbert really has no choice now, with Allen not living up to his potential LY...he has to shore the position up in FA, or invest a fairly high pick. 4th or 5th round is not going to cut.

i agree guys, but it wont shock me to see him look elsewhere and maybe get some talent later.......secondary looks deep in this draft

Yea I'm definitely not disagreeing with you cuz this draft is loaded with talent, almost like last year's. It would be smart to go CB in the 2nd round and BPA in the first because, like you said, the secondary talent pool is deep.

I don't think the steelers want to be paying anyone that amount, at least not for a single season. Still possible though. That's a big cap hit for a team trying to put together a huge contract for Ben. But then again, if they cut ties with Polamalu it would save even more and free up some room.

They've talked about tagging Worilds, but that's not going to happen...I've seen it reported that they will allow Worilds to test FA...that makes a lot more sense to me...go see what your true value is and if we can work with it we'll call you. I would be shocked to see them go over $5mil per for any FA.

That said...I'm very curious to see how the team is going to reshape itself...everybody knows they need a CB, more edge pressure, and stability @ on the back end of the DEF...I do not see Troy playing next year, at least not in PIT...but we'll see.
