Which are some of those countries which recognize Taiwan officially?

And are they really hurt much by not dealing China, or would it not have mattered to them either way?

China can't make up its mind in the face of countries and organizations still recognizing Taiwan. They don't want them to be known as Taiwan because that shows independence. They don't want them to be known as Republic of China because that was their "former" name, different than People's Republic of China.

21 is the number - some places import from or export to Taiwan more than China and some nations have integrity and some are corrupt, so many reasons why some recognize Taiwan. Good for them.
