4* DB, Chris Lammons on Tennessee:

Chris Lammons - Yahoo! Sports

“The atmosphere is good, the fan-base is outstanding, the coaches are outstanding. The facility is like one in a million. Coach Martinez and Coach Butch Jones, they know what they’re doing. I like it over there, it just feels like a place to be,” he said.

“I’m just trying to evaluate everything and whenever I feel comfortable, I’ll make a decision,” he said.

3* on Rivals, 4* on 247 and espn. I'll split the difference and say he's a decent LB, probably not a Hightower or McClain, but could be a solid contributor. Guess we'll know in a few years (assuming he signs and gets in).

Rivals (and others) will sometimes give lower scores to guys with off the field concerns (like grades). From the talk about him, kid seems like a solid 4 star talent and should be good. We're in on some very good LB's just need to land a couple more (like Dillon) and DL will be the remaining glaring hole.

Dontavius Blair - Yahoo! Sports

"Right now, Tennessee is my top," Blair said. "When I came up the first time, I didn't get to see everything so today they took me to see the dorm rooms and all the academic stuff and that was big. That was the main thing. "They are rebuilding you know what I'm saying. Brick by brick and rise to the top. I love that and the opportunity to play quickly."

"I visited with big Tiny (Antonio Richardson) and he was letting me know how things were going. He just said if I came here I would have a fresh opportunity. Hearing that from him, playing my position that's bright."

In addition to visiting with the Vols All-American left tackle, Blair spent a large part of his day with offensive line coach Don Mahoney. "I love him man," Blair said of the Vols first year offensive line coach. "He's straight forward about everything. He is very real with you. We talk a lot."

"Everyone puts guys in the league, but here (the SEC) is where it's at," Blair said. "The competition. By playing in this league the NFL won't be saying well he didn't play against anybody."

Sounds like we're in good shape.

Man, gotta admit, this one is a bit of a head scratcher to me. Not an impressive offer list at all, but I guess I'll have to trust the coaches.

Looks like he could have decent size, especially after he gets into the program. You never, Javier Arenas's only other offer was from FIU if I'm not mistaken.

JC, no wonder he chose Tennessee. It was either that or play for the Hampton Pirates.

He just looks like one of those prospects that you sign on NSD, because you've swung and missed on your top targets. Your right though, could be just one of those under the radar type players. Still have to remember these guys haven't even played their senior year yet.

I remember us singing a 5* LB a few years ago (Chris Donald) and he ended up transferring to UT-Chattanooga because he couldn't see the field. If I remember correctly, he didn't even start when he was there. Just goes to show how crazy recruiting can be sometimes.

Star Jackson and Phillip Sims were the same way.
