This is the dead zone for me...not a huge MLB fan, the NHL/NBA playoffs perk my interest a little, but neither filled the void for the the NFL...just a weekend thing, but good thing our golf season in getting into gear now...
Ready for the real draft and camps to start.
Yep...NHL...same here...the NBA I've watched parts of the playoff games...the IND-ATL matchup is interesting if nothing else as the Hawks just seem to have their number and no one else. I can't remember the last time I watched an entire MLB game unless I was there.
Yeah...there's a void still.
I grew up playing baseball and if it weren't for an injury I suffered in my youth, I would probably still be playing today. I was very serious about it, but I was derailed and forced to quit (along with basketball). I grew up loving Griffey so my favorite team will always be the Mariners, and I have always been a proud supporter of the Pirates. The only sport I could play after the injury was football and ever since then I have become more and more addicted to the sport. I will always have a soft spot for the MLB, but it will never quite be the NFL-type entertainment for me.
I was a 2 guard playing C in HS basketball, because of a best for the team coach...small colleges interested, but never played at the college level.
As games go...baseball is still imo the most interesting sport...too much money killed MLB for me as a hardcore fan when the strike cancelled the season...the Braves would be the only team here that's my 1st team in that sport.
Just a massive media increase I guess really drowned my enthusiasm for the NBA reg. season...I remember when the NBA gm of the week came on Sunday and the Finals were on tape delay. We went from that to 2 or 3 game options a night...too much for me to absorb...so it's background until the playoffs.
I feel the same way about the NBA… Hard to absorb indeed. The NFL is headed in that direction with the additions of Thursday (and the occasional wednesday) night football. Not to mention the future plans of adding additional franchises and European teams. I won't even get into the proposal to increase the playoffs slots lol. If college football disappeared then NFL would be 6-7 days a week. :no idea:
Let's hope those changes are farther down the road than they predict.
