I know it's a mock draft, but Sam falling all the way to the 4th round? No problem scooping him up there.

Pretty much where he is expected to go 3-4 coming out does not raise his stock

I agree. I think the weight and an average senior bowl is the only reason he is not currently an early projection. However, weight and conditioning are 2 of the easiest things to fix.

Also, regardless of weight - to get him in the 3rd round is a steal and I don't see it happening come May.

Oh I agree 3rd round he would be considered a steal. Before the Senior Bowl there was quite a bit of talk of him being possible 1st round material so getting him where you did is great value. Throw in the guy has experience playing both LG and LT so he brings a bit of versatility. Mostly my comment was questioning you getting value it was more I just don't know what kind of prospect he is going to be. I could see him coming in 1st year and dominating on the OL but I could also see him really struggling and looking a bit lost at times.

Ahhh alright, yeah wasn't pushing for him as coming out to raise it.

Wasn't sure where he was ranked to begin with.

He is one of those guys that is considered a Tweaner. He doesn't quite have the size to play 4-3 DE like he did in college but he doesn't quite have the speed to play 3-4 Rush Linebacker either. So teams seem to be having trouble figuring out what he would really bring to the team. Throw in many consider his teammate Ealy a big reason he had so many one on one opportunities. Teams just didn't focus as much on Sam. Now don't get me wrong he took advantage of those opportunities and I think will be a nice rotational pass rusher to bring in. Just going to take a lot for him to ever develop into a 3-down type player.

Wow 3 corners from Florida in the 1st 4 rounds. Nice pick with Watkins. He offers some nice versatility being able to play both safety and corner. Seems like these days you need players that can be hybrid types that can play wherever you need them.
